Receiving text messages while outside Canada

Will I be able to receive text messages while I’m on vacation outside Canada?  (Not U.S. so no option to buy add-ons)

I only post what I know and don’t try to insult or discriminate. I don’t confess to know anything about android. And perhaps android has similar, or an app. Or an app that both can run....but I am am not that knowledgeable on apps either, nor do I want to be. Just oddly enough our immediate family is all Apple and so are the in-laws (all but 3) and we do go out of our way to accommodate them. I guess I could have said Skype but is cumbersome. It’s odd how some things work. 😀😀

Unfortunately, roaming texting is only available if you are in the US.

Try downloading a VoIP app for a low budget fee or purchase a local SIM where you are travelling to.

@Jazzard   Sorry, PM doesn't offer roaming options outside of US, so you'll need to either purchase a local SIM or rely on wifi apps like Whatsapp, Skype or you could download Textnow which offers free calling/texting and is popular with many users here.

@Jazzard   If you need to receive text from friend, get a VoIP app like TextNow.  You will get another phone number and your friend can call and text you like a regular number.  You will get them as long as you have Wifi or Mobile Data

If you are concern about 2FA from email or banks, then you will need to change your 2FA method to either email or Authenticator app.  So, you will have to be prepared before the trip

@Jazzard   Other than US , there is no service for PM anywhere else.

So, NO, you cannot receive text in other countries other than US
