i am new to PM . i just activated my sim, got new#, but nothing but nothig works. i tried to fit APN, doesnt help. my phon unlocked and previosly checked IMEI #

1. make/model of your phone, where purchased?
2. message on your phone with the Public Mobile SIM installed; No SIM, No Service, Enter Code, Puiblic Mobile, etc.??

Since you are saying that you say nothing is working, realize that a wrong APN setting could/would only explain data not working. APN settings have nothing to do with either calling or texting. Likely, the correct price plan was never correctly attached to your account, your phone number was never corrected provisioned to your sim card, or there could be a possible compatibility issue with your phone. Which phone model are you using?
