I received a text asking me to confirm the port of my phone number to public mobile, "please reply YES to this text...". Which I did. The text was sent successfully... and I got no response or acknowledgment.
90 minutes goes by and I'm told that I did not respond, so I need to request to initiate the process again, by replying "1" to the text. So I do. And again, it isn't received/acknowledged.
What's going on? I'm still using my original SIM, because I was told not to put in the new one until I'm notified that the port was successful. I have also restarted my phone.
I joined a few hours ago and already regretting it...

@KatieO33 Is your old provider sim still working? If not, put the PM sim in the phone and restart it. There isn't always a confirmation text but the old sim will stop working if the number has ported.

@KatieO33 The text authorizing the port out of your number from your old provider is from your old provider. You are authorizing them to release the phone number to PM. Public Mobile doesn't receive the text. I would call your old provider and ask them to release the number and then call the PM porting help line at the number I sent to your messages.

Hello,
I believe maintenance is going on right now and it's probably why you aren't getting a response. I joined PM yesterday and it didn't take long for me to get up and running (includes transfer of my number) 15mins. It did take about 1.5 hours to be able to receive phone calls. I was able to send phone calls from the start with no problems. Maybe try in the morning or as soon as maintenance has ended.
