PM Top-Up PIN Vouchers

Sup folks',

So I have a bit of a predicament to share with you and perhaps it could turn out to still be beneficial in the end if this all goes accordingly.  I have my doubts because it's been a horrific and unpleasant experience so far - more of a Tim Burton's assortment as opposed to a Quentin Tarantino thank God - with my attempt at signing on with Public Mobile.

I purchased for myself a Pixel 7 Pro at the used surplus phone store in town local to me on Wednesday last week.  I did a small amount of research and found there's 5G monthly (pay as you go) packages available with PM and that I can use my devices' eSIM suite to get it started.  I did not know there was some hiccups lol.  I went to the gas station closest to me and I made a purchase of a $25 and a $10 top up voucher and with no disclaimer from the attendant and the likes, I happily headed on my way to enter the PIN numbers.  I then discovered at the point of no return for the sales, that I can not start a new subscription using these vouchers.  There's been no other provider I've ever used in the past that'd be this fickle with their subscriptions startups'.  I've been going back and forth a few days with the chat support and the community forums and I have had no luck in getting my vouchers to be used for the initial setup.

I'm really quite piffed about this miffer doodle and I'm just going to call it quits in trying to get on board with Public Mobile for now, and probably the future too.  I did find it appealing initially, but upon discovering how clunky the support services are, and the lack of options for initial subscriptions..  I'm thinking I don't want to fry my brain more by getting increasingly frustrated by the lack of "heads up's" by the PM team, the website for PM products and most frustrating lack of requirements the PM team gives as criteria for 3rd party resellers/retailers in the requirements for selling their products..  I mean how simple would it be to have a retailer get a disclaimer of their own stating "MAKE SURE TO ASK THE CUSTOMER IF THEY HAVE A SUBSCRIPTION THAT IS CURRNETLY ACTIVE WITH PUBLIC MOBILE AND ENSURE THAT THEY'RE ABLE TO USE THE PIN PRIOR TO SALE, IF THEY DO NOT INDICATE THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE OPTION TO START SERVICES WITH PUBLIC MOBILE AND THAT THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE A TOPUP VOUCHER FOR A NEW SUBSCRIPTION"

Anyways, this was my story so far, and not even the slightest bit of recourse action from the PM agents themselves.. In fact, I don't even feel like they care that this experience has left me without a phone service for a further month.  In fact, I was even told in the chat that *I* should have read into the service more deeply and it was my responsibility to ensure that I was aware of this..  Which i normally agree with, if not for the insanity of the issue here being contained to ONE SPECIFIC PROVIDER and it being an issue with NO history or relatability to any other provider in North America.  So this experience has left me with no additional finances to connect a different provider and continue my day.

So I have decided to give up on finding some workaround to use PM now and instead I'm going to offer to sell or trade my unused PINs to anyone.  I have a $25 and a $10 top up card available, it'd be best to have them bundled together, but there's no way aside from this that I can make use of them.  Send me a PM or a reply with your interest and we'll see if we can make a deal without disrupting the PM moderators...  I'm preferring a trade for the equivalent value for a Canadian Provider's network I can get my services started asap, but I would be willing to accept PayPal or if you're in Kelowna area, actual cash payments.  Either way, get back to me and if this isn't in the acceptable realm of PM to post about in their rulebooks, then pound sand while you kick rocks PM, you suck organic materials meant for coitus.  🖕👍

Unfortunately, Public mobile removed the option to activate a new account with a payment voucher. In the past, it was possible for CSA to set up a ghost account first, and then new customer was able to enter voucher numbers afterwards.  However, this policy was changed, so it is not possible.

Voucher companies are "separate" from Public mobile and just provides a service to customers.  Payment vouchers for cell services, etc. Your situation is more uncommon (ie. to activate with voucher) and the voucher company will unlikely write a statement of the various uses of voucher (ie. unable to activate new account with voucher).

Public mobile customer service is not live.  No live chat feature or call centre.  This lowers their costs of operations and supposedly allows PM to offer cheaper plans.  IT will take time to get issues resolved.

Good luck in selling your vouchers. Might need to take a small discount for somebody to be willing to take the vouchers off your hands. As mentioned, you could activate the a prepaid Visa card and then use your vouchers for future payments.

hi @ChrstphR91xTech

just in case you still want to come Public Mobile, your option to subscribe is to get a prepaid credit card for subscription.  Once you subscribed, you can then use a voucher to renew.

or if not, then yes, selling your voucher is the way to go
