if you phone takes full size sim, then yes, you can still use it
if not, you will have to buy a "sim cutter" or do it from mobile shop. But buying a new one from Amazon.ca is only $5, so, should be cheaper than buying a sim cutter
@softech @Abler I have cut down sim cards in the past. It is pretty easy with scissors. Lots of info online for where to cut.

By "old", @Abler , do you mean they are standard size with no outer adapters to 'snap off' to make them micro and nano sized?
Sure, they're usable, however if they don't have the adapters to reduce their size to fit most SIM trays, it's very hard to cut them down to make them fit without concerted effort.

are the moment, all sim cards can be used with new difference. Yes, it will work on 5G and VoLTE (if the phone is compatible)
Of course, you have to make sure the sim fits the sim slot. Most new phones these days are nano in size
