Not receiving calls while out of province

I have a MB phone number. I'm currently in BC. When local numbers from BC try to call me they receive a message "We're sorry, your call cannot be completed as dialed, please call your operator for assistance."

This is with dialing 1 before the number. Just dialing the number without the 1 yields a message that a 1 needs to be dialed first. 

I've tried restarting the phone and refreshing network connections.

If I dial a long distance operator ("00") and provide them the number the call goes through.

What's going on?

Hello @James48 

Thank you for already sharing with us that you've rebooted your phone and reset your Network Settings. Do you have the Public Mobile app on your phone and have access to either data or WiFi? If so, log in and see what plan you have and, more importantly, it's paid up. A long shot, what phone are you currently using?

Do you have only a provincial calling plan from years ago?  Check your My Account to confirm 

If you have. Canada calling plan, try reboot phone and Reset Network Settings 

Or ask PM to check Just open ticket with PM using the Orange Chatbot icon on the lower right. (For 2FA when login, you might need to use email to receive if you cannot receive the text on the phone.) Type the question Submit ticket and select Contact Us to get to ticket open screen
