I hope these issues aren't frequent where you have to do odd things like change your phone to lost/stolen among the many others justvto have your phone working properly.

@thomasluk ..also, to confirm your device is not the issue here, if your account status is Active, try your SIM into another compatible phone to see if services work.
If still does not work, check for outages in your area:

@thomasluk - is your account active? Check you self serve or dial 611 from your device to confirm.
If it is suspended, where you due to renew today?
Perhaps a failed Autopay..if so, manually add the amount in the OTHER field to make a payment and reactivate your account.
If there is nothing showing owing and still suspended try adding $1 as a topup payment and see if that lets you reactivate.
Also, another trick (if no funds are owing) that is shared is listing your phone into lost/stolen status. Logging out, then log back in. Then find your phone (resume services).
Network troubleshooting to try if your account is ACTIVE:
Try one or more of the below:
*turn off your phone, leave off for a few minutes, then reboot
*removing your SIM, then reinserting it
*go into airplane mode, then going back to regular mode
*perform a reset network settings on your device
*Check if your phone is blacklisted here: https://www.devicecheck.ca/check-status-device-canada/
*manually select the 3G / WCDMA ONLY network in your Mobile Connections area in your settings (temporarily) for dropping or unable to make incoming/outgoing calls
