This is not the 1st time this has been happening. I keep getting messages from people I know that can't seem to be downloaded. Sometimes I get 9 or 10 at a time and from several different people at the same time. In the past I put it down to the phone I had but now I've got a new phone and it's still happening! And these people I know aren't even sending me anything when I get theses things. I was have a drink with my one friend, he was no where near his phone and I got one of these messages from him. The phone keeps saying "these messages can't be downloaded" What is going on here. It's got to the point that if I can't solve this I will have to abandon my public mobile account. Can someone please help. Thanks.

I did it! I'm now getting mms for the 1st time in 3 years! I changed something (mmsc proy I think) and that seemed to do it. Of all the times I've look up these apn settings this is the 1st time I've seen this different setting. Finally! I have a phone that works! Thanks for everyone's help.

Thanks. I've tried this and that didn't help either. I've also turned off my WiFi so only the data is activated and I'm still getting these messages that can't be opened. Thanks for your help with this.

@Slam58 Of course it's on at the same time as my WiFi but I doubt that makes a difference
It might make a difference depending on the phone. Try it with wifi turned off and cellular data turned on.

My mobile data is on. Of course it's on at the same time as my WiFi but I doubt that makes a difference. I just followed the advice of someone else here and reset my network settings and I'll see if that helps. If not ill submit a ticket. Thanks for your help.

hi @Slam58
If you experience connectivity issues on your Nothing Phone (1), try to reset your network settings.
To learn how to reset your device's network settings, follow these steps.
Go to the Start screen.
To open the menu, swipe up on the screen.
Scroll down.
Choose Settings.
Scroll down.
Choose System.
Choose Reset options.
Choose Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.
Optional: Choose SIM 1 and choose an option.
Choose RESET SETTINGS.
Choose RESET SETTINGS.
The network settings have been reset.
Return to the Start screen.
And let me repeat, you need to have MOBILE DATA turned on to receive MMS

hi @Slam58
nothing stops you from receiving MMS, but it is a technology requirement that you need to turn on mobile data to download MMS. Have you done that?
and if turned on mobile data and still unable to download MMS, ask PM support agent to check the account
Please submit a ticket with CS Agent using Chatbot here:

Yes I have a android phone. I had a oppo phone and now I have a new nothing phone (that I'm quite happy with) but I'm still getting these messages. And as I mentioned before, the people I'm getting these messages from aren't sending me anything! I'd definitely happens more often on group chats but I get them as well from none group chats as well. And what's stopping me from being able to download mms messages? None of this makes sense. Any more ideas? Thanks for your help.

I don't think that it is a Public mobile issue. Do you have an Android phone? Some reports online about similar issues.
Here is one example:

Thanks so much for your speedy reply. You're right, they are mms but I have my data enabled and they still don't load. And.... were are they coming from? My friend was sitting right beside me, no where near his phone and I got one of these messages. I got one from myself the other day! What are they and why can I load them? Is there some setting I haven't activated? Thanks for your help.

HI @Slam58
if message won't download , it is a MMS messages. Make sure you turn on Mobile data and try again
or you can also try Reboot phone, Reset Network Settings , and make sure Mobile data is on and try
