Keeping my plan number

I have a plan but I recently moved back home. I still have a lot of various accounts in Canada that require a phone number. Is it possible to keep my phone number inactive but just reserve it on my account so that in the future when I am back in Canada I can continue using it

I like this idea a lot. It is not even for my liking of the number but for all the accounts I do not want to lose and am unable to switch to a phone number where I live now. Thank you! So far this is the most helpful.

@dylandev if you are coming back and forth, it is not bad to pay $15 every 90 days to keep it alive.  But remember, you have to be very careful to keep track of the date and never let it 90 days pass or the account will be closed and all the effort in vain

@dylandev if you like the number so much, consider to port it out to VoIP app Fongo.  With that, you can still use the number on the app and receive some text (but not all, some 2FA text will not be able to send to Fongo).  There is only a $25 fees to port in and no other fees after.  Porting out is free as long as you stayed in Fongo for over 6 months

when you are ready to come back to Canada, you can port the number back to a mobile provider

Yeah I saw that, was hoping there was another way or an acceptation to just keep my account opened because I will be back and fourth, maybe not every 90 days though

You would only be able to do this if your Public Mobile account is only left suspended for less than 90 days.  Otherwise, the account would get closed.

I don’t think you can , how ever you can put it on a $15 plan and keep it that way . I’m sure others with more knowledge will chime in anytime now !!!
