I have to travel to Europe shortly and want to take my phone. Do the international minutes in my add on work to call and receive there or do I need to buy another package?

Further to the Wi-Fi calling apps suggested by @Triguy , I just wanted to add that if you at least keep your PM plan active while you are away, you can set it to forward calls to your Textnow/Fongo/etc number while you are away, then can at minimum get your canadian calls and voicemails while you have wifi or data from a local europe SIM. Texts cannot be "easily"* forwarded though.
(*Can technically be done by running an app on a phone left on in canada with your PM SIM to forward / access texts from abroad)

@IVA60 Yes, your PM SIM won't work there.
Try to get a Europe SIM (they have many choices of prepaid plans). You can probably get it from here from some local phone stores or you can get it cheaper while you are in Europe.
If you want people able to reach you while you are in Europe , best is to setup a VoIP apps (like Fongo or TextNow) before your trip, get a local Canadian number and you can give it to your friends. As long as you have Wifi or data , you friend can reach you on your VoIP number

Since pm offers no roaming service other than the US here are your options that apply for short or longer periods of travel. Choose what may apply for your trip. Local sim cards are cheap compared to Canada although some countries offer better deals than others they are all cheaper than here. If you transiting thru one country before your final destination such as the UK you may want to pick one up at the airport. Here's a reference link....

Options for your account and service....
Most important mark on your calendar day 85 of your suspension and day 90. Do not forget when you must unsuspend your account via lost/stolen and/or pay and reactivate your service so you don't lose your phone number and account. Happy travels!

PM only offers US roaming. The international long distance add-on is only for calling while you are in Canada. You would either have to buy a local sim or use Wi-Fi apps like Textnow, Skype, Fongo, or Signal.
