Except for a very rare case of some past Wind Mobile promotional price plan that they marked as ineligble for number porting for unknown reasons, pretty much all carriers allow porting in at any time. Fido is no exception. Porting can be done at any time.

@Pawprints1986 : I'm not sure any provider will let you transfer out when inactive. I'm also not sure if other providers let you transfer in a number after activation. This one does. So you could grab a promo and then transfer later. Yes you'd be paying for two plans but you got the promo.

It actually is interesting to learn that you can't port out an inactive number, but within the 90 day total cutoff period... So it's still a registered number, but you basically have to pay $15 to port out, and not use any of the $15 you just paid for. That actually kinda sucks
I know normally you can "plan" for it, but sometimes good deals at other carriers pop up on a whim
I've never let mine go unpaid as it's my only phone number, but I could see where others say with a landline as fallback could get frustrated by that...

if you account is not Active with public mobile the processing is not going through you have to pay for your plan to you can getting the SMS, and also if your plan is higher price you can change to the $15.
and Make sure the old SIM card in your phone when you're Transfer your number. You should get a SMS message from your old carrier asking to confirm if you would like to Transfer your number. Your reply should be: YES.
The confirmation message can take a few minutes to come in. You have 90 minutes from the time of request.

If you didn't just let your PM account go into a suspended state, then (regrettably) you'll need to reactivate it to enable the port. It'll cost you at least $15+tax - unless you have an available balance to draw from. 🤞
If you did let it go inactive, then you could request Fido to pull the number (if available), but there is absolutely no guarantee they will (or even, can) do this.
Good luck!!!

Short answer no, long answer see previous replies.

Hi @Anikolarova , PM cannot approve the number transfer on behalf.
By "cancel the plan", I think you just meant you didn't renew. If you can still login to My Account, then just reactivate the plan first (maybe change to $15 to make it cheaper). Once activated, call Fido and ask them to resend the activation request and reply YES within 90 minutes

When did you cancel your plan? You need an active plan to port over to another company (except for Telus and Koodo since same company)
If your plan is inactive, you will need to activate to the minimal plan $15 to port over to Fido.

How did you cancel your PM plan? Your account must be active to have your number ported out?
