I cancelled my public mobile account more than 2 months ago. The SIM is not even in my phone anymore. Suddenly I saw on my bank account that Public Mobile had not only charged my phone but there’s a “record of my phone recently receiving texts.” This is literally impossible. The SIM card is on my table. What do I do??

How did you cancel your account? Did you port your number to another company? Did you unsubscribe from your subscription (ie, turn off pre authorized payments)?
