I signed up for a different plan 2 days before my subscription renewed. I already paid for the SIM which arrived today, but I have a pending charge with public mobile this month. My question is if I can transfer my number to a new company today and cancel the pending charge or if I have to wait a month before I can Port my number? I effectively want to move to a different provider but not be charged twice for December. What are my options?

yes, if you don't want to waste money. Although I said Koodo might do something , but it is not 100%
don't wait till last day to port. Maybe arrange your port on 23rd, definitely no later than 27th just in case porting didn't go well
and remember it said to Dec 31st, truth is it only goes till Dec 30th 11:59pm

It says my current subscription cycle is Dec 01, 2024 to Dec 31, 2024. So it looks like I need to wait until the end of the month to transfer my PM phone number to Koodo.

PM's cycle is 30 days, so the renewal date would not be the first day of each month. Login My Account and confirm the next renewal date, maybe there is no issue as your plan already renewed for more than 2 days
or you can still try to ask Koodo to issue a one time credit to cover the lost money

Okay, that's what I thought

To clarify, I've been a public mobile customer for a while now and don't love how my service drops periodically. I'm moving to a new provider

I've been with public mobile for a while now, and I'd like to move to Koodo. I plan to transfer my PM # to Koodo. My subscription renews on the first day of every month, but I signed up for a new Koodo plan last Friday.
I just got my new Koodo SIM card today but haven't transfered my number yet/set anything up. I see that I have a pending transaction from PM this month, so I'm just trying to see if I can still register and set up my SIM with Koodo today and somehow reverse the pending charge, or just wait and do it at the end of the month.

I'll look into this! I'm moving to Koodo

did you moved to Telus or Koodo? if you are, you are lucky, Telus or Koodo might be able to give you a one time credit

Hey @N-sh
So, just a bit confused on what you're saying. Let me ask you this. Are you a brand new customer? If you just got the SIM card today, did you register it yet? What phone number are you talking about? Have you ported a number from another service provider when you set this up?
I can't say you'll get a refund but if you are a new customer and have not registered the SIM card yet, you are entitled to a refund. If you've registered the SIM card, you're stuck for at least 30 days and will need to port out towards the end.

you're here now...might as well test drive Public Mobile as you've already paid and there's no refunds. I think you'll find PM to be as competitive as any other flanker network.

hi @N-sh
sorry, PM is prepaid and won't provide refund if you port out. So, best to wait till closer the end of this cycle and then port, that would minimize the lost on PM side
