I currently have a Google pixel 6 but am planning on buying a new Google phone that I would have to order. How hard is it to transfer the esim to a new phone ? I know they have tutorials on the website but I am curious how it has gone for people who have done it.
Thanks for the help

It shouldn't be hard to switch phones.
First thing to note is that you cannot transfer eSIM from one phone to another. Only physical SIM card can be moved to phone to phone..
With eSIM, you would download the Public Mobile App and purchase the eSIM. Doing this you will keep same phone number. If you had one previously, the system should recognize and credit back the cost.

Not hard at all. But you don't use the website, you use the Public Mobile app
Download the PM app on the new phone, login and go to Account page and Purchase sim cards, choose esim and buy and install
And don't forget to open a ticket with PM after and they will reimburse you the $5 esim cost
