@JimCrowley1112   You might want to start a new thread for your question since this one is old and marked solved so your post as a reply may get overlooked.

Hey we just tried all this on a Sonim XP8 and it will not allow me to change the AP[N.  I get an error message that it doesn't allow apn's with * .  There are no * anywhere to be found so wth?  Any suggestions?

So you turned on cell data and tried to send a picture text and it didn't work?
Did you save the apn and then select it and then in and out of airplane mode or restart?
If so then try the couple different settings in the APN I gave (MMS and MMS port) and then try again. And do the last line in my previous reply.

No they didn't

I'd be curious to know if MMS picture texts still work with those older settings.

Thanks changed settings and it did the trick

There's a preferred updated couple lines in the APN. Yours has a couple errors.

APN Settings:
If you're able to edit then use the following. If adding then don't change other lines.
Name: whatever you want
APN: sp.mb.com
MMSC: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mb/mmsc
MMS proxy: mmscproxy.mobility.ca
MMS port: 8799
APN type: default,mms,dun
APN enable/disable: APN enabled - probably on anyway and greyed out
MVNO type: GID
MVNO value: 4D

Save, then select to use, then go in and out of airplane mode

@Deeann This may sound too obvious but is your data turned on?

@Deeann   I don't have any experience with this phone but there was a similar problem with it discussed last week, I don't know if anything there might help
