gave away my iPhone 15 and no longer have access to it
I do have a backup iPhone XR and I don't know how to activate it with a new esim (I believe it can esim or regular sim) I do have an unused physical sim sitting around but would prefer to use the esim
how can I get my number and esim into my backup phone ?

thanks ! I managed to get the sim installed after many error messages I just kept trying and it finally worked thanks a lot !

the "spare" PM sim has to be a new one that was never been used on any account before. If it is, then login My Account and go to Profile, update the sim card number by clicking the pencil beside SIM card number there

yeah, doesn't work, the app kicks me to the web page on the phone and there option to submit the 6 digit code i.e. there is no "SUBMIT" button on the web page

@frogmeister maybe it is a payment issue
Try to load enough funds ahead using this link on a browser first
https://myaccount.publicmobile.ca/en/account/payment/funds/card
if you can load funds successfully, you can go back to the app and re-buy eSIM
if you cannot load funds, then you might want to get a voucher from SDM/LD/711/Shell and then load the vouchers first and try buying eSIM again
if none of those work, then consider changing back to physical sim for now. Get a Public Mobile sim card from

yeah thanks I got the code via email (obviously not be phone) and logged in ok and then went to purchase an esim card but I keep getting error messages ???

you can still install the PM app and buy esim on the other phone
To rebuy new eSIM for FREE, first, download the app on your new phone and login. If you have problem with receiving 2FA code, click "Didn't Receive code" or "Resend code" and choose either Send email or Send voice message
Once logged in, Click Account from the bottom, then click Purchase SIM Card and select eSIM.
Once it confirms your phone is eSIM compatible, click Pay $ and Install
if you cannot login because you can't receive the 2FA via email or voice message, you likely have to change back to physical sim first. But check with PM CS_agent and confirm. Private message CS Agent at:
