Wondering if anyone else is having a similar issue. Not sure exactly when my problem started (I don't make a lot of phone calls from my cell normally), but a few weeks ago I noticed I couldn't make any calls from my phone. I thought it was just a fluke and forgot about it. Today I am noticing that I still can't make phone calls from my Samsung Galaxy A50. They just don't go through. I receive text messages and have data connectivity, and my account is in good standing. It's just the phone service that isn't working. I can't make or receive phone calls. Has anyone else had similar issues? Could this be because my phone is too old?
I did have a similar problem with my S8 but switched the network connectivity to LTE and it seemed to fix it - not working on my A50 though.
Thanks!

Several customers are having the same issue. Did you receive a warning text from Public mobile about some network changes?
As mentioned already, Telus has been changing the network in certain areas. In your area, likely lost the 3G 850 Mhz band and your phone is not LTE compatible with PM network. That is why you are having talk issues.
If you want to stay with PM, you will need to upgrade your phone. Or you can move to another provide (like Telus or Koodo) and your phone will work with VoLTE on their networks.

Older Samsung S7 and S10 have no issues in Toronto GTA area with calls nor with SMS. $15 with 250MB and $15 all unlimited, no data plans.

PM uses Telus and Bell Network. Telus is in the process or realigning some 850 Mhz channel on its 3G network for other use. People who have phones that is not whitelist on PM VoLTE list (some older phones) and those do not have 1900Mhz (phones that are not designed primarily for North America) will have voice trouble.
I don't think your phone has both 850 and 1900 and it is for sure not on PM's VoLTE whitelist, so it might not be something that can be fixed unless you change phone or you might want to move to Koodo or Telus

hi @Waterplay
Telus is refarming all of their 850 to 10 MHz LTE B5 in their markets, mainly BC, AB, Windsor, Ottawa, GTA area Montreal, Quebec City. Bell has not done this, so it won't affect area that has Bell networks which Telus/PM use
A50 is not a true Canadian model of phone, so you likely impacted and need another phone to stay with PM.

@Waterplay, in case you haven't done so already, try rebooting your device as this sometimes helps. If this doesn't help, are you able to try your SIM card in another phone to see if it works?
