I am an existing PM customer.
Is there any way to port a number from one PM account to another?
For example:
- I buy an Freedom Mobile SIM and activate a new account.
- I port the new number from Freedom to PM to get the offer.
- I now have 2 PM accounts, but I want the phone number on my original accout switched to the account with the promo and the ported in freedom number.
- Will PM allow the switching or porting of numbers from one Public Mobile Account to another?

Even if I can "port" the number from one PM account to the other, I know I will loose the $$ remaining and my rewards, and one account would be closed. But that would be ok..
My concern is that if I port my number to Freedom "first" and then "back" to PM there is a lot of possibility of something going wrong. Plus how long would this process take?
My Phone number is very important to me.
I would like to get the promo, just trying to find the easiest way to accomplish it without the possibility of losing my number in the process.
Addressing the scenario where you are porting out to Freedom, then porting back to a new PM account:
As long as all accounts concerned are active during the ports, you should not lose your number. When done right from the user end, there is little risk of that. Do not manually cancel any accounts before porting. The porting will automatically cancel the old accounts in succession for you when complete. That is, the original PM account must remain active when porting to Freedom (but it will cancel itself when done), then the Freedom account must remain active when porting back to a new PM account (then Freedom will cancel itself when done).
Porting between carriers can take up to a few hours. The entire process can be done within a day or two, if all goes well. Do not start the second port before the first one is complete. Test your service after the first port (incoming & outgoing talk/text/data). When all parts are working, then you'll know it's done. Another way to know is by checking if the old account has been cancelled.
PM has a rule that you can only change numbers once every 30 days, but that is per account, so you'll be okay here.

OK, thank you for clarifying.
Just one remaining question...
If I do Port my number out to Freedom mobile, and then Port it back to Public Mobile how long would this process take? (Could it be done over a weekend?)
I think I read in one of these posts you can only port a number every 30 days.
Is that just within PM, or is it a CRTC rule? (Is it going to stop me from doing what I want to do)
Thanks again

When a phone number already belongs to a carrier, it's no longer considered number porting.
I wish I had better news for you, but the website is just plain wrong. This question has been asked many times, and while I know it's not the answer that you want to hear, moderators have confirmed that that Public Mobile either cannot or will not allow phone numbers to be swapped between two different Public Mobile accounts.
Currently, your only option is to port out and then back in. Or, you can wait a bit in the hope that the promotion is eventually extended to essisting Public Mobile customers.

Sorry, but no, this (swapping numbers with another Public Mobile account) cannot be done under any circumstances.
To achieve what you seem to be looking for, you would have to port out your existing Public Mobile phone number (and also lose any funds in the account and any plan that you have already paid for) to Freedom Mobile, and then port it back in to Public Mobile.
If you don't want to do the porting out and then back in, your best bet would be to ask if a moderator can offer you, as an existing customer, the promotion (the answer still might be "no"), and/or for existing customers to place pressure on the company to allow current customers to switch to it.
