Finally a great new plan for $15!!

dabr

Just a heads up for those on the $15 plan to schedule a plan change to PM's newest version of this before it disappears:

edit:  Just to add the $19 plan seems to have been upgraded to 2GB (for now) but no international minutes inc.

I just connected with the CS and they stated that their support team's latest update to them was that all $15 plans are being removed. Has anyone else had this issue? I still see the $15CW unlimited + 500mb data plan on the website.

Thanks. Tried incognito and having the same issues. Submitted the ticket, see what the CS says.

I changed to this plan and set it to change on renewal, about 2 weeks ago,  and until yesterday my public mobile account was showing that the plan would be changed on renewal. However, I just logged in today and doesn't show anything about that. It still shows my current plan will renew as normal. I tried to change to this plan just to make sure and the page just hangs. My renewal date is tomorrow!

I did that and can't go back down

hi @CharlieR64

you can stay with your current plan even you put a pause to your subscription, your current plan won't go away for sure.   And Remember, if you pause for over 90 days, your account would be closed and you will lose your number.

I wonder if I could put my account with this number on pause for 2 mos and still get it back.  I have seen another cheap Canadian provider, called LUCKY with similar priced plans.  What if I signed up with them for the 2 mos I want higher data, cancel, then switch back?

sorry @CharlieR64  , it is what it is.  You can only change to plans available on your My Account.  So far, we know if you have plan $19 and above, you won't see this plan

if you don't have a $15 or $13 plan, you won't be able to get this new $15 plan.  This is a special $15 plan for existing $13 and $15 subscribers, even new subscribers do not have access to it

Why can't we just switch from whatever plan we want whenever we want?  I am on the old $15 plan, but I only want to upgrade to the high data plan for 2 mos as I am taking a trip and want to use the phone for my internet source (via Data) during that time.  How would I be able to switch back to a $15 plan after the 2 mos?  Any ideas that don't involve changing my phone number?

To those that have made the changed and is already using this new plan, does our bonus data and minutes get carried over or do we lose them?

When you go to confirm the change their is a message that says "Additionally, data add-ons associated with your current subscription may become incompatible if you change your subscription."

@CC24 , my service was renewed today to this new updated plan & I can confirm that all my bonus data add-ons & the international long distance minutes that I had are still there. Just not the bonus Canadian minutes (due to I now have unlimited Canada wide minutes). This plan is now just right for me. 😊

This is a general disclaimer that gets shown when changing from any plan to a different plan but doesn't necessarily apply to each plan change.  Specifcally, changing from a plan that doesn't have unlimited data to a plan that does include unlimited data will make Canada-wide data add-ons unusable.  The add-ons actually still stay on the account, but in that example, the add-ons wouldn't serve any purpose.

@CC24

yes, you will keep all your bonus data you got from previous Xmas.  They are all with no expiration and won't get removed just because you change plan

I have more than 2000 INTL minutes in free add-on that I received over the time... They'll probably stay there forever with this great new $15 plan 😂

Data speed - do not care at all.
100 LD minutes for few countries - do not care at all as I do not have anybody there.
Unlimited calls/sms - care a lot! Now I can get rid of land line...

Obviously you can never satisfy everybody and there will always be those who complain and whine 'why you cannot provide this or that'.

All kudos to PM to offer this to existing customers in need for a basic mobile plan.

@SeniorCitizen

nothing to do with sunset, 3G is just the speed, you can always use 4G and 5G network even with a 3G plan, just speed is always capped at 3Mbps on 3G plan

and yes, the main difference is the extra data and the better speed (capped at 100Mbps instead of 3), all other features same

But if I change to this plan my remaining holiday bonus Canada wide add-on minutes will become a permanent fixture on my self-serve page. 😂

you still have Canada wide add-on?

you can schedule a plan change now.  Then the day before renewal, closer to midnight as PM won't remove/change plan late in the day, cancel it so you renew with the old $15 plan.  Right after renewal schedule the new $15 plan again.   Then keep doing this as long as the $15 new plan is still available.  In this case you give your Canada-wide minute "longer life" and not worry to miss out the new plan

Good point. Way back when there was fear of change in the rewards program I piled on the Canada wide minutes using my rewards dollars.  In hindsight, I guess I should bought Data🤔

Never the  less my screen shots show the changes are:

Canada Wide TO Nation Wide

250 MB 3G data TO 500 MB 4G?data

3G TO 4G (sunset was this summer?)

100 min Canada Wide TO Unlimited Nation Wide calling (now comparable to other low cost plans)

Unlimited messaging, international text TO Unlimited talk and text with a (1)

Call display, voicemail, call waiting, call forwarding and conference calling TO ????

Great news 👏🏾 🤗🥳

Now a plan I feel that is worth it for me to switch to.

Don't use Change Now, it will charge you $15 today and start the new plan right a way.  Use change on renewal

Does anyone know if you select the "change now" option, will it bill you another $15 immediately? I'm on the old $15 plan and just my bill date was the other day.

hi All,

I just  check the details of this new plan carefully, I am surprised they even include "100 monthly long-distance mins to China, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, Philippines, Taiwan, and the UK".  Not useful for everyone, but it is still a goodies that make it one of the best entry plan

Absolutely marvelous!!!!

Thank you @dabr for this great news (finally unlimited calls Canada wide for $15)!

And Thank You my dear friend (you know who I am talking about) sending me private message and letting me know of this plan.
Plan change scheduled... Question is how long will this plan be offered so I can persuade my better half to switch too. Better half has $15 unlimited calls/sms but no data.

Great upgrade for the old $15 plan people. I wonder if it's shown/available to anyone else.
