Essential phone Duplicate message feom 611

Hi there, on my essential phone I am keep getting text from 611"Public Mobile here. Sorry, we do not offer text messaging outside of Canada at this time." I am not even trying to send any text . It has been happening since I got this phone. I went to India, used same phone didin't have any issue. Now I came back I am facing same issue . You can click those 3 dots and go into the different menus and remove notification sound / vibrate, then they will still arrive but you will not be notified encase you have to still get other important messages.

While this does not resolve the problem, block SMS from 611 for now.  This will at least alleviate the symptom.

@Mavi, are you on a Canada-Wide text plan from a while ago?  PM has been offering only Internation since I believe the summer of 2016, thus most people will not see this message.

 

I would imagine this is very similar to the iPhone iMessage issue, where the software on the phone is attempting to send a message to identify itself to the central system server for either messaging or calling features, and if that's the case, your Canada-Only texting package is unable to reach the destination.  I had a similar issue when I was on WIND (pre-freedom) with an iPhone - I couldn't register my iMessage account with the phone number because at the time, WIND didn't allow international texts without an addon I refused to purchase.

@MaviHey while this is not too common this does happen to quite a few people. There are many discussions regarding this already. There should be a workaround that the moderator team is able to do for you if you send them a private message. Click this to message the moderators.  Please include in the private message your phone number, phone make and model, name, your account number and PIN code and explain what you said here in your post and they will take care of the issue.
