Does VoLTE work on 3G plans?

I remember hearing from someone that 3G plans actually use 4G towers, but with throttled data speed. Does that mean VoLTE works with 3G plans?

Not at PM as PM does not currently support VoLTE.

Public does not offer volte. The use of the term 3G by this company is stupid. It's all 4G/LTE. As you say, they throttle the speed down. But they stupidly call it 3G speed. Actual 3G/HSPA speed is actually faster than the throttled 4G/LTE speed. You can set your phone to use proper 3G if you like.

@lockup   PM has no VoLTE at the moment.  So, whether you are on 3G or 4G plans, you are still using 3G network for voice

Rumour is that VoLTE will come to PM soon, just don't know how soon

and yes, no matter what plan you are (3G or 4G), you can use data on both 3G network or LTE network.  Just that if you are on 3G plans and using LTE network, speed is capped at 3Mbps, but no cap if you are using 3G network for data
