Ah, ok thought it sounded to good to be true. But i guess with data then i can just use WhatsApp and there's no voice roaming charge.

HI @MBrown75

yes, you can make calls to the 3 countries when are you in Canada, US or Mex 🙂

Just to be clear with their 'US, CA MX' plan - i can make calls, and use data, just like I am in CAN, at no extra charge? i know it says 'included' but alot of plans are included so I wonder why they're also pushing the add ons that seem so much higher. one vacation and you might as well get the 39 all in package.

That's just data. Not talk and text. And you can only receive texts. You can use that data with a voip app like Textnow though and do talk and text through it and its different number.

If i buy Data - US Roaming - 1GB Data (15 days) - $20.00 (15 Reward points), can i call, text, use data?

Leaving your phone on automatic networks will only connect to T-Mobile in the US. This is good because they're the only provider that will work. When you turn off airplane mode then you should get a welcome to the US text. You can receive texts without an add-on.
Do you know if your phone has been enabled for volte yet? If so then talk should be no problem. If not then check to see if you can switch the phone to 2G GSM. Coverage for 2G GSM is less than for 4G LTE. Data & text will work on LTE. Talk & text will work on 2G.

Check the T-Mobile site for coverage maps.

Yes, PM service will work in US but only if you buy one of the US roaming add-ons.  There are different one to choose:

Bundle - US Roaming - Talk, Text and 3GB Data (15 days)- $30 (25 Reward points)
Bundle - US Roaming - Talk and Text (15 days) - $15 (10 Reward points)
Data - US Roaming - 250 MB Data (15 days) - $10.00 (5 Reward points)
Data - US Roaming - 1GB Data (15 days) - $20.00 (15 Reward points)
Data - US Roaming - 3GB Data (15 days) - $25.00 (20 Reward points)

US data has a 15 days expiry, it will start right after the purchase is completed successfully.  So, you can wait till closer to your trip to buy it

PM partners with T-Mobile for Roaming support, you can check the coverage here:
https://www.t-mobile.com/coverage/coverage-map

Also, a reminder, when you are in US, make sure you try to connect to T-Mobile network. If it does not connect automatically, then change the Network connection to manual and select T-Mobile

If you roaming purchase includes data, make sure you enable Roaming Mobile Data on your phone

If your roaming purchase includes voice, enable VoLTE on your device and you might be able to use VoLTE for voice.  But if not, your phone should change to 2G network when voice calls come

@Kriz

for use in USA, you'd need one of the 15 Day US Roaming add-ons available in the self serve portion of your account.
