I had recently signed up for the 40GB at 5G speed for $34 with one of their black Friday deals. In my account it did not show the details. I thought if I clicked the cancel, button it would bring up the details and ask for confirmation before deleting. That didn't happen and it was removed promptly.
I see the boxing week deals are unfortunately only available for new activations.
Is there any way to fix the mistake that occurred?
Thank you,

@Flameotter And to add to the confusion the powers to be will come out with 6G next week and start charging a premium again . And we will all be right back to square 1:)

HI @Flameotter
yes, we seen a big increase with data in this year, used to be $35 for 3GB or $40 for 5GB or so, now it is $34 for 40GB. Maybe we will get even more, or cheaper next year.
But on the other hand, people will just use more data once it got so cheap 🙂

@Handy1 I agree. I'm slowly upgrading my speed and data bucket a little increment at a time. First was 3G, then Public started offering 4G and now 5G. Even another family member, they used to be on 1GB data, now they're on 40GB and didn't even realize it.

@Flameotter It’s my hope the data bucket will get so big and stay under the $40 mark and there will be no need for home internet

Good catch, I missed that one. I'll keep an eye out. I was pushing up to 12 GB even when I was using it in my household with other people trying to get their work done. Would have been a fun experiment for people to see how much data we would require in a month or even a week if internet went down. Internet got restored and the speeds and stability is beyond using tethering so the experiment ended.
Although I do have a GL.inet router which does allow tethering for Internet and is a matter of plug and play which I used for a bit and gives wifi or wired access.
The main router I have does allow USB WAN, but I think on certain USB models are allowed, not USB tethering which is unfortunate.
Either way I think there's something to be said about the under $40 mark. It's good that Public Mobile is matching a lot of the other carriers now. 100GB 5G for $50 is an excellent plan!!
Thank you.
12-16-2023 09:16 AM
@Flameotter Yes I see that . It’s good deal also . I also see there’s 100GB for $50 also 5G unlimited 30 day if you need even more data
12-16-2023 09:13 AM
See they have as a standard now the $40 for 60 GB on 5G plan for all members without needing 90 days in advance. Sounds good. I was in a predicament with my ISP where they were unable to resolve my lack of internet service and was using my Mobile data to supplement. Now that we're back we'll see how much data I will actually burn through day by day when I have home internet in place as well.

Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I didn’t know that before.

it’s at 4G Speed though. Would all plans technically be “unlimited” now with 512KB/s after? I know Koodo has their unlimited or shockfree but then charge $13/100 MB
@Flameotter , only 5G Plans have unlimited data (at throttled speed after using up plans included data) except the Canada/US Plan doesn’t have it!

Your right totally slipped my mind I I don’t see in website. I should really start to check my account plans page also routinely as special deals prop up in there for existing customers from time to time

@Handy1 , my account on the app still shows the $39 50GB at 4G Speed plan, I made a post about that the other day that you replied to Promotion $39 50GB at 4G Speed Plan!
Edit: to add info!

@statusquo So it must just be in our accounts to see it because even in bc website it doesn’t show that plan . Strange how website won’t show it but in your account will .

@Flameotter 60GB for $45 is promo plan for boxing week . And yes Telus has that plan even folks in Quebec can get CAN /US plan 100GB for $50 right now or 60GB CAN /US for $40 and yes once you reach your data bucket @Flameotter @it will be throttled to 512kbps on 5G plan (non CAN/US)and your account will look like this
12-13-2023 04:55 PM
I'm in BC @Handy1 . I was wrong earlier thinking the $39 with 50gb having unlimited data @Flameotter as it doesn't as you can see from my screenshot.

Thanks.
I probably won’t do the 90 day one to start as it’s just before Boxing day and Christmas, I’d have to wait 90 days before the next account renewal.
Is the $45 for 60GB on 5G a promo or a staple?
I heard Telus is offering a 100GB on 5G promo now from somebody working at MobileKlinik.
has anyone reached the limit on their data? How is the speed after in “unlimited” mode? I think it’s supposed to be 512 KB/S is that true?

Just click change subscription to see the plans available for existing customers. I'm not logged into the account right now but think the 60gb for $45 or 90 days for $40/cycle is 5g with unlimited data and $39 for 50gb might be 4g speed but also has unlimited data as well @Flameotter
12-13-2023 04:36 PM
@statusquo Where is the $39 for 50 GB plan? Is it 4G or 5G?
the plan I lost was$34 for 40 GB at 5G speeds.
Thank you @Handy1
i’ll know for next time how to see the details of the upcoming plan changes. I agree it usually is good to confirm when making such huge step.
Well my mistake, hopefully I know better for next time…
12-13-2023 04:31 PM
@Flameotter Shoot I’m sorry to hear that it really should give you a second confirmation when canceling a plan changes it get your to confirm twice to change on next renewal when changing plans . But yes x mas around the corner and better palms may come out each day leading up to Boxing Day . But next time you want to check in your plan change go to your payments page it shows everything you want to see about the new plan like this
Good idea to screen shot the plan change too just in case

Thanks @statusquo
I appreciate your answer. I'm on the hunt for a new phone and it looks like all the carriers are really hunting keenly for new customers. I think the $34 plan for 40GB on 5G put Public Mobile in a really sweet spot since it's pretty much Bring Your Own Device service. I might have to wait it out. Probably something will crop up closer to Christmas as I know the other plan showed up for 1 or two days and then was gone, I might have to renew my cycle again before a good deal shows up after my renewal date of the 23rd...

I don't believe there is any way to go back to an offer that is no longer in Public's system and canceling the scheduled plan is sort of final unfortunately @Flameotter .
There are couple of new really good promotions in your phone account though a bit more the bf promo you were scheduled to change to. The best offer for current customers is $45 for 50gb or if you pay for 90 day cycle then you'll only pay $40/cycle and I think there's one for 60 gb for $45. Make sure to schedule the change at renewal again, of course.
I just checked the plans again and I think the best offer is 60gb for either $45 or pay for 90 days and it's only $40/cycle so $1 more than $39 for 50gb @Flameotter
