Just completely re-set my iPhone ( formatted it) and it also wiped out the e-sim. I know that I should have been more careful and ticked the don’t delete e-sim but I didn’t. So now how do I reactivate my sim?

@Circus Yes one can use eSIM and physical sim , but they would need to be two separate accounts (phone number)
Wednesday
Accepted and verified your solution with CS. But of course if one wanted to they could use a phone with e-sim and hard Sim.
Wednesday
@Circus Thou the option is there on the apple device itself . It most likely will not work and you have to buy a new eSIM . pM does not support eSIM transfer , eSIM are one time use at PM

It seems that there’s an iPhone option to transfer one’s E-Sim to another phone. Before I try this I wonder if with this transfer option — if required —-one could also transfer back to the original phone.
I ask this question because , when for example one is travelling with a trusted friend or spouse this would enable the use of one phone only , with 2 lines and thus eliminate the need of carrying two separate phones .
ANOTHER benefit would be that data from both plans could be used .

from what I heard, QR code really a one time thing, BUT, carrier can provide you new one for free. I think only Freedom has it for free "replacement" , maybe one or two more carrier
iPhone has way to "keep" your eSIM on the phone when you reset the phone so you don't have to pay again. NO Android phone has this feature
Yup - I know this now --- just ordered a new SIM card through Amazon - they say I should get it tomorrow -

It's a funny thing. People are so focused on saving a $1 here $2 there and then have to realize they'll end up paying the piper anyway. It's a money grab by the providers to make you pay again for the "thing" you already have to move it to another device or accidentally delete it. Then people get surprised at having to pay more money anyway when they thought they were saving money. That qr code absolutely should be reusable until the sim number changes in the account. Greed.
Yup, physical sim all the way. Maximum flexibility.
Of course a provider could be really nasty and say nope, we see you have put the sim in another device. We don't do that here. Evil laugh ha ha ha follows. They know the device that has their sim in. They could do that if they wish to be nasty.

HI @Circus
eSIM is fancy, but if you don't have a user case , it is better to stick with physical sim
eSIM is best when your physical slot is occupied by another active sim, when your phone does not have physical slot or when you just need it for a travel sim

We're happy to share some news that aims to make your eSIM installation process smoother and easier. As of June 15, we've started including an eSIM QR code in our activation summary emails.
HI @Circus
Esim QR code is a one time use thing, you installed once you used and it is no longer useful. Anyone deleted it by mistake, or Reset the phone or move phone cannot use the same QR code to install, because it is one time install only. So, you will need a new one and pay another $5. Most Canadian carriers are the same, no free new QR code
Tuesday
@Circus sorry yes I remember, but at first I advised how to re buy new eSIM to start then it started sound like you wanted physical sim again so I replied how to do that too . But anytime you delete eSIM you have to re buy it again , why me likes physical sim best just take it out and put it in no muss no fuss

If your eSIM card has been deleted, you must contact your carrier and have them send you a new QR code that you can scan in order to activate your eSIM again.
HI @Circus
sorry, contact your carrier does not mean free
Most Canadian carrier charges you extra in this case. PM charges $5

@Handy1 wrote:@Circus Yes for new activations on eSIM there’s welcome email sent out with it . So sounds like you were existing customer when you added eSIM so is it possible the QR code was sent to you in a email
Hey -Yesterday I gave you the solution to your previous posting advising me to transfer the e-sim to a hard Sim. I posted this problem because I read that you can just re-activate a deleted e-sim by QR code.

@Circus You can go back to physical SIM card , once you have a brand new never activated before card in hand go to profile page in your account and sim card swap it like this
SIM SWAPPING profile tabs
Note only do this on lap top or computer/ not mobile device

It wasn’t clear to me. I thought that I could just transfer to a new hard sim but doesn’t seem to work. I must be overlooking something.
( now just using iMessaging and email)
PS did you get a chance to remind @J_PM to delete the floating not tied in to any plan accounts that were generated by Eversafe when first introduced. Again in the interest of keeping this forum clean without rogue Alia’s accounts please remind her to delete community accounts that I have simple named for her convenience —-Beer, Old1, Old2, Old3, Old4, Old5, Old6 , Old7 , Okd8, Old9, Deleted. She doesn’t seem to want to respond to my private messages .

@Circus it has been 2 days and you still not figure out what to do? you messaged me and I though I answered your question. 😀

HI @Circus
never delete eSIM on the phone, there is a cost to buy a new one if you delete it, even by mistake. This is same for all providers
download the app, go to Subscription and Add-on page and click Shop Sim card at the bottom of the page and buy new
Monday - last edited Monday
@Circus You need to log into the app and re buy one from subscription add on page .bottom of page shop sim select it and choose eSIM download and install
