Good advice. Or use lost/stolen if just suspending or change your credit card to a prepaid card** with a less than $1 balance so that autopay fails.

**I have extra cards if a member needs the info for this purpose or to earn the $2 autopay reward if applicable. Private message me if needed.

@reinhuk  @hairbag1  Currently members cannot delete a credit card without contacting the CSAs. Best that can be done is disable autopay and suspend service.

Do you want to cancel your account? Or do you want to maintain your account and phone number for the least amount of money? You can keep your account and phone # and any associated rewards and add ons for approximately $45 or less (w/rewards) for about 355 days.

Schedule a change plan on next renewal to the $15 plan (Unless you already that plan or less). Suspend your plan via lost/stolen either before midnight eastern on day 30 if you want to maintain active voicemail or after midnight once rewards are applied (if you are on the $$ rewards program) but before 2am eastern.

Mark your calendar and a back alarm to remind you around day 85 to pay and reactivate before day 88/89 to ensure your account does not get cancelled on day 90. Again on day 30 suspend your account as before. And repeat.... you only need to pay for 3×30 days to maintain your account for nearly a year at a cost of 3×$15=$45 - $?(rewards).

Points can be redeemed for $15 bill credits so you can save a similar amount to redeem at least once for a yearly cost of $30 to maintain your account and phone #.

Keep in mind these additional tips....

Spoiler
  1. You can turn off autopay and allow the account to suspend at the of your current 30 day cycle but this is your least advantageous option. Pay and reactivate by day 85 or so.
  2. If you have an account balance that exceeds your plan amount then you need to suspend via the lost/stolen feature in your account before midnight eastern on the evening of your renewal. Then on day 85 or so resume your service to pay and reactivate.
  3. Suspending via lost/stolen before midnight eastern will keep your voicemail active allowing you retrieve voicemail and any verification sent by phone calls. However your rewards will not be applied to your account. CSA contact after paying and reactivating is necessary to have the rewards applied manually.
  4. Voicemail can be accessed by calling your pm number from a different phone by calling your phone # and pressing * once connected and entering your 4 digit voicemail pin #.
  5. If you don't have an account balance or enough balance to cover your plan amount you can suspend via lost/stolen after midnight but before 2 am eastern on the day of your renewal. Once your rewards have been applied (usually by 12:15 am et) then suspend your account. Voicemail access will be lost.
  6. Switching to the $15 plan with rewards helping to cover a partial or full amount of your plan allows you to call forward your pm number to your voip number before you leave Canada.. Now any incoming calling to your pm number will ring thru to your voip number while on wifi or mobile data (w/a local or global sim card) You can access your voip voicemail for all voicemail messages.

Most important mark on your calendar day 85 of your suspension and day 90. Do not forget when you must unsuspend your account via lost/stolen and/or pay and reactivate your service so you don't lose your phone number and account. Happy travels!

Remove any credit card info from your account and disable Autopay.

Account will close out permanently after 90 days in Suspension.

Just watch bank info for the next few weeks to be sure.

To suspend and later delete account:

- Disable autopay through self-serving account or dialing 611.

- Remove credit card from your self-serving account.

-- On next renewal your account will be suspended due to no payment and closed after 90 days unless you renew manually.

- PORTing your number to other provider cancels your PM account immediately.

- You can use lost/stolen feature and immediately suspend your account.
