Hi Guys,
I received a phone call today but missed it (and it's for a job too so hoping they will call back...), when I tried to call back it just has the message 8UM2 even though the phone number is in the same province as me. I notice when it called through it had the +1 so I tried calling by removing this however each time I call back it automatically adds it. I already checked my phone settings and it says my area code is set for Canada... I am able to call my partners phone who is also on the same network. I have unlimited phone calls too. Does anyone know a solution?

Can you try calling from a landline, Voip or other non-PM line?
If the call fails, the problem is on the other end.
If the call goes through, then the problem is with Public Mobile/Telus. Please contact Moderators to inform them that you are unable to call this number.

I have had phone numbers pop up on my cell phone and my other cell phone provider is not PM until I am off contract with them. They had local numbers also with the +1 before them. I googled the numbers and they came up as numbers that were telemarketers. And they were local, which doesn't make sense...... Not sure how they do it but they are sneaky.
Maybe google the number and see if it pops up?
Hope the job comes through for you.

@Courtneyclairem The message occurs when the area code is incorrect. Are you sure it wasn't a US based number calling you?

Could be a fake spoof and not actually the prospective employer.
