Current PM phone is damaged but I still have an older phone that I bought when I first joined Public Mobile that works. Can I switch back to that one and keep the same phone number? Will it take my old SIM number?

There are 3 different sizes standard, micro and nano.
Your flip phone uses the micro size and it has 2G and 3G so it will be good until 2025 when 3G will be discontinued.

All (or most) SIMs come as 3-in-1 'package. Standard, micro and nano. Nano is where the hearth is. If your sim is bigger you would have to do some 'surgery' and cut it to proper size. If it is smaller but you need bigger then adapter has to be made or obtained.
What size is your SIM and what size your old phone takes?

It's an alcatel one touch flip phone.

Just put your active PM SIM into new phone and it should work right away. Depending on SIM's size you might need an adapter.
If phone is compatible with PM's frequencies there will be no issues. Number will stay the same.

Yes, you can use your old phone by taking your SIM card from the damaged phone and inserted in your old phone.

Yes you can use the older PM phone and all you have to do is pop the PM SIM from the current phone to the old phone. The SIM has all your account information.
The only issue is the battery on the old phone may not last as long and you might need a spacer for the SIM to fit the old phone. You can visit and mobile shop and they will give you one for free. My friend had the same situation.
Curious what make and model is your old phone?
