Can I do “change on renewal” but do “change now” later before my renewal date?

I currently have a Canada only 50GB plan (from December 7th) that renews on January 7, 2025. I saw the Canada-USA-Mexico plan and I am going to USA next week (December 19, 2024), so I need the plan active just before I go on my trip. My question is, can I press “change on renewal date” (to secure the plan just in case it goes away in the upcoming week) and then “change now” on December 19th (before my renewal date) just so I am saving a week worth of my current plan?

depending on how long you're going to USA for...you might be better to just buy one of the 15 Day US Roaming add-ons that are available. If you upgrade to the Canada / US / Mx plan, you won't be able easily downgrade to cheaper plan when you get home. Also, be aware that your cellphone needs to be on the whitelist of phones that Public Mobile has chosen to enable volte. If not on that list, you will likely not be able to make or receive calls while in USA.

I don't really know. But I would think that would only work if the plan is available to use the change now button. If the plan goes away and you have it saved as change on renewal you may be able to get pm to do it manually.
