cook?

@CountyDownIeUk   Yes, for now, China still allow iPhone and Facetime, because Cook willing to surrender iCloud data to the govt.

(in fact China is the major market for iPhone.)

The use of FaceTime or FaceTime audio would be ideal if all friends and family had Apple products. But not sure if China allows the use of it. My brother used to talk to his wife using a Chinese developed product called TenCent as they too assisted in the development of FaceTime.

You will either have to purchase the $15/500 minute international calling add on for Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao and China ($0.03/min) in your self serve account. Add the funds ($15) then go to the add ons page and select your add on, scroll down to confirm and submit your purchase. Check your overview page for the add on then log out and reboot.

Or....

MyTello offers calling to Hong Kong for a little cheaper ($0.0278/min).

Or Rebtel has a $2/month unlimited calling subsription with a one week free trial or pay as you go rates of $0.028/min to Hong Kong.

Thorough as usual. Looks like the savings is insignificant to have to get involved with another billing system. I would say that @tomtkvan1990  should buy the PM add on. And keep in mind the add on does not expire until used up, you continue to use the same device...no apps.....no Wi-Fi....no separate billing system. The only drawback is can only call while in Canada.

If you are under the new rewards system and you have banked up enough points you can also redeem them for that add on

Withtout the long distance add-on that RossN mentions, you can't call Hong Kong. There's are no per minute rates. You have to pay before you can do it.
