Bonus data on pre-authorized payments gone?

Hi all,

I used to have a bonus 500gb of data on my plan due to enabling pre-authorized payments.

It appears to be gone now..? Has anyone else experienced this? Is this intended? 

I am frustrated because I need 2gbs per cycle and now I am only getting 1gb. And it looks like their next cheapest option is $10 more for 9 more gbs, which is overkill for me.

In some ways, it was just confusing to customers with some thinking that incorrect amounts of data were included with the plans.  When it comes autopay, Public Mobile has also moved away from giving customers a fixed discount simply for paying for the plan (at least for new customers).

@computergeek541 Good to know. Hence why they dropped the requirement I guess. Probably a nightmare to try and code that and/or maintain the database whenever people moved on and off of auto-pay.

The autopay requirement was something that was never actually enforced.

I am good; I just confirmed what you said. Whether the OP (original poster) falls into this category or not I don't know. 🙂

@Cheetah24 So if you're getting 1GB, all is good? They just converted your bonus to be part of your plan; you don't get another 500MB on top of that. It's just 1GB total.

Yes this is correct; when I joined PM and got the 25 dollar plan it was like this. 500 GB and the other 500 GB from auto-pay. 🙂

I vaguely recall that the $25 plan used to include 500MB + another 500MB bonus for auto-pay. Then they changed it to simply include 1GB for all, regardless of auto-pay.

To my knowledge it never included 2GB. It's possible you're confusing the offer I described with the More than Merrier bonus that was already mentioned.

I do not believe it was either of those things. I would have had this plan since at least 2020 and to my knowledge it was not a special promotion.

If it was the free More is Merrier promo from 2022 for free data and LD calling…it will rollover to this month.

But if you purchased an Data Add-on…it will expire after 30 days.

Ok cool. Well that would suck if they too it away! Maybe just delayed?

@RozValentina: I have a feeling that this might be an old offer you had as a promotion where the bonus data is offered for a certain amount of months with auto pay. In any case I would advice you contact the service agent at https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437 so that they can investigate what happened to your bonus data.

I have been on this plan for a good few years now so it is not exactly the same as the one being advertised.  Mine definitely did have bonus data from the time I registered up until this month.

Not aware of this bonus 500 gbs of data  you speak about for autopay. I only know about the $2 which is still there.
