Advise on how to properly transfer number

Hello all,

I currently am PM subscriber with $20 plan promotion, up and running. My phone does not  support Esim
I will gift this plan of mine to a family member who is with Koodo and that person Iphone supports Esim only.
Can your please advise on what is proper/best way to transfer number for my case? Are the steps bellow correct:
1) port koodo number to public mobile (basically to my public mobile phone with sim card)
2) once porting number from koodo to public mobile is successfully, install PM app on that person phone (Esim only)
3) Switch to Esim e.g. using PM app to buy new Esim on this phone.
4) If Esim installation is successful, the porting and Esim switch is considered complete and that person can enjoy this promo plan
*I am not sure porting koodo number (from account with Esim) to public mobile (from account with physical sim) is possible?
Please correct me if the steps above not correct. Thank you in advance

@Nhithao , my suggestion is to keep the Koodo plan operational on a separate phone.  On the phone that will eventually be using the new Public Mobile plan, install the Public Mobile app.  Using the app, switch/buy new e-SIM and confirm the account is fully functional running on the temporary phone number.  From the mobile app, submit the number transfer.  When typing the porting information, use the Koodo account number and type the number without any leading zeros as it appears on the bill.  Verify the number transfer on the separate phone that is running the Koodo account.  Wait 5-10 minutes, reboot the Public Mobile phone and the number transfer should be complete and Koodo account closed.

Thanks for reply. We only have two phones: Public Mobile phone (old phone, Esim not supported) and the Koodo phone (Esim only) so we kind of stuck e.g. PM phone cannot switch to Esim and Koodo phone does not take SIM card etc
