I'm travelling internationally (Europe) for shorter than 90 days this spring. I understand from other posts here that I can pause autopay for this period so that my plan isn't charging me while I'm not using it. Great! Unfortunately for me, I leave the country on March 31st, and my plan renews on March 27th. Since that's a whole 3 days that I'll still be in Canada, I'm considering just unsubscribing before it renews and existing data- and text-free for those days. But I'm a bit worried that there will be some important text or call I'll miss, for example text notifications on one of my flights being rescheduled. Does Public Mobile offer some kind of day-by-day phone plan? Could I buy 3 days of service to cover that period? I have the $15/month plan so any cost above that is not worth it.
Thanks!

Public Mobile does not inform customers of missed calls, nor will these show up in the call log unless the device was connected to a network that provided service to the Public Mobile device at the time of the missed calls.

I thought that you can't use whatsapp without an active phone number, and my understanding is that when I suspend my PM phone plan (let's say, starting March 27th), that number will not be active until I reactivate it. Or does whatsapp work without a phone number?

Thank you for your help everyone. I guess I will have to pause the plan after March 27th, it will be a hassle to not have call and text for those 3 days as I'll be in an area with not much public wifi.
I plan to get a local sim with EU number when I'm in Europe. I have another question now - since my PM plan will still technically be active until April 26th, if anyone calls or texts me at my Canadian number while I'm out of the country, will I get charged for that? Or will those calls/texts not reach me and stay undelivered, since I'm out of the coverage area? It's my first time out of the country so I really don't know how it works

You can use WhatsApp (using your PM number) when connected to home wifi or public wifi for the 3 days.
You can also use it abroad when connected to hotel wifi.
Or just renew your $15 for another 30 days and pause your subscription before you leave aboard.

Public mobile does not offer day-by-day plan. Just 30 days plans. For suspended PM plans, your various add ons will not work also. Up to you whether you can live without PM service for 3 days.

HI @Ella_w
No, you cannot just use 3 days of service. You will have to either unsubscribe before March 27.. or let it renew and the cycle will be till April 26th and the unsubscribe (even you turn it off earlier) will start on April 27

Same thing when I went to Japan in October. I just suspended my PM service a day before my renewal date which was a few days before my departure date. I just lived without PM service for a few days before my trip.
I still have a land line, which I usually call forward to my cell phone. Instead I call forwarded the landline to a TextNow number. And I also used TextNow to make outgoing phone calls. Of course, I needed access to wifi for Textnow to work.
The other upside is that I was able to use TextNow in Japan to make and receive calls while in Japan.
