I had this Public Mobile number 647-xxx-xxxx for many years. I just found out that it was deactivated. I'm trying to activate it.

Thanks

HI @rshenoud1

yes, I told you it was a Rogers number

there is a very short period of time you can reactivate it with PM, before they pass the number back to Rogers.  Did you ask PM support agent?  Message them.

But if PM already passed the number back to Rogers, there is nothing they can do.  Rogers might not re-cycle that the number that quick, that's why they might also say the number is not available to them.  So, it could be the number is "in transit" back to Rogers.  if that is the case, you won't be able to get that number back for at least 3 months.  But of course, if it is available again, it could be picked up by someone else quickly

Good Luck

Good morning, I have the SIM card and tried to re-activate the mobile number xxxxxxxxxxxx, and it is giving me an error and I was informed that this number is back to Rogers. I contacted Rogers, and they informed me that is number is with Telus. Not sure what to do to activa this number again?

You say... "very recent"...  how recent? If it's been under 90 days, you should be able to get it back by signing up again or renewing your account. If it's been over 90 days, this is where it's difficult. If the number came from another service provider, there's a very good chance it was sent back to them. If it was from Public Mobile, Koodo or Telus, you still may be able to get it back. A Customer Service Agent may be able to assist you with that. Contact links have already been given.

hi @rshenoud1

you lost the number, but don't loss the hope.    Depends on when you lost your number, there is a chance this number still with PM before handing it back to Rogers (this is a Rogers number)

so, check with support agent, if you just lost it and you can show you owned that, they will give it back to you.  You can submit  ticket by direct message:

@rshenoud1 , your old number has probably gone back into the recycle pool to be issued to future customers.  It would be virtually impossible for you to get the number back.
