I'm still paying for my account since I want to keep my phone number, even though I'm currently travelling. Is there any way I can still receive or somehow access text messages (I know I can't send them which I'm fine with)? I know this works when I'm in the USA but I'm currently outside of North America entirely. My main issue is that I've been unable to login to some of my accounts or sign up for certain apps if they use SMS for 2FA or OTP.

Too late now if you're already gone, but a workaround in future is to leave your Public Mobile sim in a burner phone at home, on and plugged into a charger. Download a text forwarding app on the burner phone, and set it to forward all of your text messages to an email address. And then forward your phone calls to a TextNow phone number.
A bit of a pain, but it does work. In the meantime see which accounts offer alternate MFA options such as email or authenticator app. This is definitely one of the drawbacks to Public Mobile.

I do not believe that Helenruch is asking specifically about logging into Public Mobile's self serve account. The 2FA options that are available with vary based on those offered by each company.

Unfortunately, that is one major drawback for Public mobile. Lack of international roaming outside North America. You will not be able to receive 2FA texts on your PM phone number while roaming outside N. America. Some companies will offer 2FA email instead.
