3 SIM cards --> 1 phone number

sarahdraht

For work we have 3 employees. We want to go with Public Mobile, is it possible to use 3 SIM cards for one phone number/one account.

Basically we are needing this for the data. Want our work to have it's phone number so customer can connect with us  (we run an online yoga subscription platform). We want to use WhatsApp, telegram, and signal. We concluded maybe the best way to do this is a work cell with those apps on it? PM has great data rates so that's what primarily I would be using it for. The objective of 3 sims would be for all of us to be able to to be connected with the main line, but of course I'm open to any suggestion. Thanks so much for the help!

Good point. Perhaps a mix of voip or another carrier to provide stability/backup contingency plan. Like everyone runs to the fire hall to man the land lines.

And for auto play failures, I would use the hybrid auto pay for business service for sure. I have used it from  day 1 on all 3 accounts....no issues.

@CountyDownIeUk I agree some will be for sure, but we still see autopay issues and then last weekend numerous accoutns without service for days even after PM said the issue was resolved.  I just personally wouldn't feel comfortable if me being able to put food on the table for my family depended on Public Mobile.

I understand you are looking at the data costs here but also want to tie your phone number to it as well.  I have always said that if your business or job relied on your phone to be working all the time I would not recommend Public Mobile if my pay cheque depended on it.  Now saying that I have been here 5.5 years with no issues but I have seen  people who have had issues with their accounts and no active line for days to weeks and this is why I couldn't recommend PM as a business line.

I hear you. Any issues I have had, have never caused me loss of service and have always been timely resolved. Of the ones we know with loss of service issues.....how many are self inflicted? I would say a high percentage are.

If your main number (4th phone) (office or home based or?) that your customer calls is a voip.ms number you can set up the 3 PM numbers to receive the call. First one  to pick up the other 3 stop ringing. All phones must be fully charged and turned on during work hours. There are lots of options with voip. Outbound calls on the 3 cell phones could run on data (or wifi) on an app to show the main number as the caller ID.

Since I found this post for another member its also something to consider if you do choose public mobile but cannot be used for the 2GBBONUS promo code but for an extra just in case data account that you all could hotspot data from using a dual sim phone or an old phone capable of being used as a data hotspot.

The 2GBBONUS promo code is still being displayed as on offer on the pm website.

Keep in mind this method of activating a "data" plan works best over the holidays but CCS does offer the stacking free third month credit and 5gb data add on every few months you just wouldn't be able to time the double the "More is merrier" freebies. CCS does alternate it's 20% discount activation bundles from one to three months and sometimes offers 20% off vouchers bought at activation so there are ways to save more money if you pay up front. The most important factor is ordering an activation bundle to sit on until those stackable offers become available usually for a 3 day period. Here is my post from just after the introduction of Public Points.....

This Is a great option: It's likely you can also still use the 2GBBONUS promo code for 2gb of bonus recurring plan data for $35+ plans with no expiry as long as your plan remains on or above the $35+plan threshold.

This is assuming there is no access to WiFi? If you think your data usage would be less than 10.5gb then hot spotting the data off one device or even a mobile hotspot may work to keep costs low. However second tier providers are offering 15gb for around the $50 price point and first tier 25gb+ unlimited (throttled to 512kbps after hitting plan data amounts) of shareable data at around $80. Or one main phone could get the telus plan and the others $15 pm plans. It would really depend on what your estimated usage would be....pm of course you will have no surprise bills, overages or extra billing....its own kind of peace of mind plan!

It's likely you can also still use the 2GBBONUS promo code for 2gb of bonus recurring plan data for $35+ plans with no expiry as long as your plan remains on or above the $35+plan threshold. There are also times with a little preplanning and good timing you can activate a so called "data" account with the clever use of stacking promotions, xmas freebies from pm and the one advantage the new points program avails....discounted add ons.....that you can have an extra account that you can reactivate when needed or at least once per 89/90 days for extra data on the cheap. I have explained it somewhere on the community...?!!

@sarahdraht   if you want all 3 phones ring, you can explore workaround  with VoIP app.  I believe TextNow can do it

So, you activate TextNow and pick a number

then all 3 employees install the app and login with the same credentials (Textnow allows multiple concu

So, you activate a line with PM, forward all calls  over to the TextNow app

When someone call the new PM number, the TextNow app on all 3 employees phone will ring.

You can try this to see if it is something you looking for

I'm sure we are all curious to the reasoning behind your question but assuming that you want the client to call one number and it be answered by whichever employee is available to take the call. With a little luck after activation you may be able to get sequential or very similar numbers if you are choosing new numbers and using the change number feature in the accounts.

But for practicality you could use the conditional and unconditional call forwarding options such as busy/declined, unreachable etc....to call forward to the second employee and again to the third employee and back to the first if necessary or to office phone number or answering service or voicemail if all three are unable to take the call. This way you only have to give out one main number to your clientele but it will almost always be answered by whichever employee is available to take the call.

@sarahdraht  Get a TextNow or Fongo account. Any number of devices can use the same number. Both services are free calling on wifi or cellular data.
For cellular service get data only plans, or regular plans but just use the data.

@sarahdraht - if you want to ring all employees when one phone number is called create a Fongo Account with a free phone number. Have each employee install the app and log into the same account.

When someone calls that number all 3 will receive the call.

BUT, this app only works in wifi or by using data. So, they will need to have a cell plan with a data portion enabled, unless they are always in wifi zones when this phone number would be in use.

Nope. Each sim is it's own account with it's own number...and it's own email address required. You can use the same credit card though.

Why ?  That's just the way it is with prepaid service at PM.

@sarahdraht   All 3 sims tie with one phone number?  No , this cannot be done.  No carrier can offer this.  Its always one SIM card can only take on one phone number

You want to do something like when someone call, all 3 employees see the phone ring and one of them can answer?

@sarahdraht   Not possible.  One SIM per account/number and each account requires it's own email although you could use an alias for the emails and same CC for payments.

No cell provider will do that. It simply doesn't work that way. (as far as I know)
