Thank you so much! It works! Deleted my old conversation, and I got iMessage back!

Thanks.

I did a few hard boots, removed SIM, turned iMessage and FaceTime off, reset network settings and turned iMessage and FaceTime back on. Now it works fine. It took seconds to activate.

For me what worked when I first switched to PM was deleting my iMessage conversations in my phone, then when I went to send a message again, it was able to switch it iMessage.

For some reason before doing this, my phone wasn't able to send iMessages to existing conversations

iMessage continuing in activating mode. RESOLVED!!!

Seems there is no  one specific way to resolve but this did it for me. Whew!!!

I made many changes. Won’t be sure if order is exactly correct.

PM phone number de-register

A few hard reboots holding power button and home button

Turned off FaceTime and iMessage

Pulled SIM card to see if activating stopped…did not

Did a carrier reset, which turns on data

Put SIM card back in.

Turned iPhone off then on.

Turned on iMessage…..no longer activating

Turned on FaceTime…..activated for a few seconds and BINGO both running properly.

So with PM I want to take advantage of the free texting.

So I think my issue was due to this set up. So with Data and Wifi turned off I was texting out in a green bubble. But all replies from Apple users where in a blue bubble and to my iPad, MacBook and iMac and NOT my iPhone at all! So I assume because my other devices were on  for the phone number and ON Wifi the responses were routed to the Wifi devices. Does that make sense that iMessage would do that?

So I have not confirmed how the changes will work yet.
