Go to My Settings -> Preferences -> Private Messenger
Not sure if this will link correctly for you but try this:
Remember to click Save after you tick the check box for e-mail notifications.

Default Community settings:
- Subscribe to threads where I post: on
- Email notification of private messages: off

Yeah really, of all the reasons for prolonged lack of cell service, this one is the most unnecessary and aggravating.
I don't remember what the default for e-mail notifications is when we first create a community account, but it should be notifications on, just because so many people are signing up for the purpose of getting help.
