Everything is working well only cannot send text messages tried everything

@ChuckYeah thanks for the tag.  Given that @sandy123 tried the SIM card in another phone and also was unable to text, I'm thinking it's not a phone issue and the steps you suggested probably won't help.  It sounds more like an account glitch.

Sorry that took so long, but I had seen the post before, but could not find it again. Using a different message app has worked in the past. Others required moderator help.

 

Obviously this was for an lg user, but it should translate through the Android world.

While you wait, here are some good ideas on a prior post by @srlawren .

 

 

1) Clear the cache on the app you use for texting (https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-203965/)

 

2) Clear your system cache  (https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-30660)

 

3) Try a network reset (https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-204094/)

 

4) Try a different texting app if none of the above works.  If you're using LG's app right now, I recommend trying Google's Messages app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.messaging). It's free, works well, and if PM ever gets RCS support, this app is ready for it.  If you're already using Messages or want to try something different, Textra SMS (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.textra) is very popular, as is Chomp SMS (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.p1.chompsms). Both have lot of customization and so on.

 

As odd as it sounds, changing texting app really sometimes seems to be necessary and works.

@sandy123  Good to know. If that's the case you need to contact PM to check your account.

 

To contact Public Mobile click here. The link  sends you to the private message function and adds the moderator team as recipient for a private message. You just have to enter a title and text in the body of the message describing the problem and post. The message will be received by the moderator team and they will respond to it. You will receive the response in your private message inbox.

I been using bublic mobile with my phone for over a year now never had any problems. Its not my phone. I put this sim card with another phone same problem

If you can send / recieve calls, use data...but no text; sounds like you've run out of text minutes. Are you confident you are on that $25 plan ? Did you only recently subscribe to it ? Was your last plan the $15 plan ?

I turned it off for half an hour, I put it in another phone still didn't work, I have a $25 plan unlimited texting. Nothing worked still can't send text messages

@sandy123  Do you have an iPhone? If yes, make sure you've turned the setting for iMessage to use SMD.

One time  when I was with telus, I was told to send a text to my own number. Not sure if that will work with pm, but it unfroze my telus account several times. The reboot seems like the best advice though ! If the text does work, let me know.

If you made sure texting is enabled on your phone...

try shutting phone down, remove sim...wait for a moment then replace sim and restart. It's a longshot...but give it a go. Good luck.

@sandy123 if you have access to another phone to try your sim. If texts work Thein it's a phone settings issue. Do incoming texts work?

Do you receive any error message or does it just time out? What kind of phone are you using? Is it the native messages or 3rd party app that you are using. Does it happen for both text and multimedia.

First try turn off phone and wait 30 seconds or more then turn on again. Make sure airplane mode is off.

@sandy123 are you on the $10 plain? Maybe you used them all up?

@sandy123 hi if you are on the 10  dollar plan you may be out of texts if so check in data and add on section if texts dont show up you are out
