From August 23rd until September 13th, 2018, you and your friend can each get a $25 credit when you refer them to Public Mobile and they activate online.

Taking advantage of this promo is easy. Just follow these steps:

As a Public Mobile customer you need to:

  1. Be a good pal and refer a friend to Public Mobile.
  2. Tell your friend that they need to successfully activate online on a 30 or 90-day plan during the promotional period and include you as their referrer in order to be eligible for the promotion.
  3. The one-time $25 credit will be applied to your Self-Serve account within 72 hours of your friend’s online activation. In addition, you will continue to be eligible for the $1 referral credit off your monthly bill for as long as your friend stays with Public Mobile.

 

Your friend will need to:

  1. Activate a Public Mobile SIM card online on any 30 or 90-day plan at activate.publicmobile.ca.
  2. Enter your active Public Mobile phone number on the referral page during the activation process. Be sure they enter your number and not their own so you get credit for the referral.
  3. The one-time $25 credit will be applied to their Self-Serve account within 72 hours of activation.

Refer a Friend Promotion FAQs

  1. If I am referred and then I refer a friend or family member am I eligible for both sender and receiver rewards?
    Yes, you are. This means that you would receive one $25 credit for being referred. Then, after activating with Public Mobile, you are eligible to take part in this promotion as a referral sender and earn $25 Refer-a-Friend credits during the promotional period. Learn more here.
  2. I am a Legacy customer. Am I eligible for these rewards?
    Legacy customers are not eligible for rewards. However, Legacy customers’ referrals are eligible for this offer, and can receive a one-time $25 account credit.
    To learn more about Reward eligibility and Rewards,visit publicmobile.ca/rewardrules . If you would like to take advantage of this promotional offer, our support team can help you switch your plan to one that is currently available.
  3. As the referral receiver, am I eligible for the ongoing $10 Refer a Friend Reward credit, as well as this $25 Refer a Friend credit?
    No, these credits are not stackable. Instead, you will receive a total of $25 via an account credit, rather than the ongoing $10 Refer-a-Friend Reward credit.
  4. When does this promotion end?
    This promotion will end September 13, 2018 11:59PM EST.

    Referral sender (current Public Mobile customer)

    • All existing Refer a Friend eligibility requirements and rules apply. To learn more, visit publicmobile.ca/rewardrules.
    • While Legacy customers are not eligible for Public Mobile Refer a Friend rewards, Legacy customers’ referrals are eligible for this offer, and can receive a one-time $25 account credit.
    • You and your referee have to accept these terms to participate in the program.
    • You can only refer individuals with whom you have a personal or family relationship to ensure compliance with Canada's anti-spam legislation.  
    • You can’t refer yourself or an existing Public Mobile customer.
    • TELUS team members, contractors, sales representatives acting on TELUS's behalf and associates at retail locations who receive special pricing are excluded from this promotion.

    Referral receiver (your friend)

    • Must activate on a 30 or 90-day plan with Public Mobile.
    • You must input the referral information (referrer’s Public Mobile phone number) during your activation.
    • You and your referrer have to accept these terms to participate in the program.
    • After activating with Public Mobile, you are eligible to take part in this promotion as a referral sender.

    OTHER

@happysgurl, the biggest possible reason you didn’t get the $25 is if your friend activated in store.  There were various promos running when this was on, and many new signups were forced by the retailers to activate in store, rather than buying the SIM card for home online activations.

 

Saying this, if your friend did activate on line, and did activate before time expired, and also used your phone number as a referral, then I would suggest you send a private message to the moderator_team for help in getting this resolved.

I had a friend sign up but I never got the referral credit... how do I know if he did something wrong or if it was a technical error?

@sk4551, if you activated in-store, you do not qualify.  The $25/$25 promo was only for online activations.

@Monikacurrie, either they activated in store, which disqualifies them, or they activated after Sept 13th at 23:59 Eastern Time.

 

The first post in this thread is very clear about the time of the promotion, and the required process.

Was this extended? I got 3 referrals today and recieved $25 for each of them.. Gonna miss that. Only been on PM for going on 2 weeks and got just about $250 in referral credits. Won't have to pay for awhile

Unfortunately you have to receive the SIM and activate by the deadline, not just order the SIM. It's too bad they can't track when you bought it, or let you activate with a placeholder.

 

If you're going to wait for the next online promotion, consider ordering a SIM now so you have one on hand. Obviously that's not going to be useful if you end up taking a promotion that includes a free SIM in-store. Sometimes the in-store promotions are more generous (for the new customer) than online, for example I think the last in-store promotion was free SIM and $25 credit, vs the online $10 SIM and $25 credit to both new customer and referrer.

@sapphire13 you can buy Sims at Walmart wow mobile, k mobile and London drugs.  Walmart is hit and miss for selling Sims without activation.

$25 referal credit promotion is so popular. I went to Aurora Walmart yesterday, I was told it was sold out. Luckly I got it at Richmond Hill Walmart today.

Presumably they did it in store (WM, LD, or WOW) and the salesperson lied to them. The $25/$25 is online only. What you describe is the regular referral bonus.

 

Did they do it in-store or online? The $25/$25 online bonus ends tonight at 11:59pm EDT.

i just refered a friend for PM and I only received a $1 credit and my friend only received a $10 credit. What happend to the $25 credit?

Yes, that is correct. And you will get $1/mo reward as long as your aunt keeps an active plan and your aunt will get $1/mo as long as your uncle keeps an active plan.

If you go all the way back up to the first post on page one of this long thread and then scroll down a little, you'll see a box saying Spoiler that is clickable. Click on it and scroll down a little again and you'll see mention of when it expires. It's from an actual company representative/employee. I'd say it's 100% 100%.

I would be close to 100% certain.  It is stated in the official announcement's own FAQ section on the first page of this thread. 

 

But, I don't have control over public mobile....Smiley Happy

Is today is the last day or tomorrow all day? (sep 13th). It says until...

I'm just a van ride away from where ever it's shipped from.  Previous SIMs have arrived for me in southern ontario as early as 2 days later, worst was 4 business days with a 3-day long weekend in the middle.

 

Waiting for 2 myself, ordered on Saturday or Sunday this past weekend too.

Anyone know if today is the last day as in the deal will end at midnight tonight or will tomorrow be the last day?  Expecting a sim in the mail ordered on the weekend and thought it would come today, but didn't, so should show up tomorrow.
