Totally agree. This notice should appear on activation and log in screens as a flashing banner.

Glad this was posted here for me to find as I thought my account had gone funny again.  However, it's too bad I didn't get the error message that was displayed in the announcement post when I tried to sign in as that would have saved me some angst
