From February 14th until March 31st, 2019, you and your friend can each get a $25 credit when you refer them to Public Mobile and they activate online.

Taking advantage of this promo is easy. Just follow these steps:

As a Public Mobile customer you need to:

  1. Be a good pal and refer a friend to Public Mobile.
  2. Tell your friend that they need to successfully activate online on a 30 or 90-day plan during the promotional period and include you as their referrer in order to be eligible for the promotion.
  3. The one-time $25 credit will be applied to your Self-Serve account within 72 hours of your friend’s online activation. In addition, you will continue to be eligible for the $1 referral credit off your monthly bill for as long as your friend stays with Public Mobile.

Your friend will need to:

  1. Activate a Public Mobile SIM card online on any 30 or 90-day plan at activate.publicmobile.ca.
  2. Enter your active Public Mobile phone number on the referral page during the activation process. Be sure they enter your number and not their own so you get credit for the referral.
  3. The one-time $25 credit will be applied to their Self-Serve account within 72 hours of activation.

Refer a Friend Promotion FAQs

  1. If I am referred and then I refer a friend or family member am I eligible for both sender and receiver rewards?

Yes, you are. This means that you would receive one $25 credit for being referred. Then, after activating with Public Mobile, you are eligible to take part in this promotion as a referral sender and earn $25 Refer-a-Friend credits during the promotional period. Learn more here.

2.I am a Legacy customer. Am I eligible for these rewards?

Legacy customers are not eligible for rewards. However, Legacy customers’ referrals are eligible for this offer, and can receive a one-time $25 account credit.

3. As the referral receiver, am I eligible for the ongoing $10 Refer a Friend Reward credit, as well as this $25 Refer a Friend credit?

No, these credits are not stackable. Instead, you will receive a total of $25 via an account credit, rather than the ongoing $10 Refer-a-Friend Reward credit.

4. When does this promotion end?

This promotion will end March 31, 2019 11:59PM ET.

 

Terms and Conditions

Referral sender (current Public Mobile customer)

  • All existing Refer a Friend eligibility requirements and rules apply. To learn more, visit publicmobile.ca/rewardrules.
  • While Legacy customers are not eligible for Public Mobile Refer a Friend rewards, Legacy customers’ referrals are eligible for this offer, and can receive a one-time $25 account credit.
  • You and your referee have to accept these terms to participate in the program.
  • You can only refer individuals with whom you have a personal or family relationship to ensure compliance with Canada's anti-spam legislation.  
  • You can’t refer yourself or an existing Public Mobile customer.
  • TELUS team members, contractors, sales representatives acting on TELUS's behalf and associates at retail locations who receive special pricing are excluded from this promotion.

Referral receiver (your friend)

  • Must activate on a 30 or 90-day plan with Public Mobile.
  • You must input the referral information (referrer’s Public Mobile phone number) during your activation.
  • You and your referrer have to accept these terms to participate in the program.
  • After activating with Public Mobile, you are eligible to take part in this promotion as a referral sender.

I have a question, I got a referral number and activated yesterday, I then activated my son and used my number for the referral. Shouldn't I have two $25 credits? one from the Referral I got and one for the one I gave so $50?

I thought you got the credit both for using a referral number and also for being a referral number, I only show one $25.

Love the idea of having spare SIMS at home. We have to get more people on board!!  Good service for half the price I was paying!

i screwed up by activating in store by accident and my friend missed the $25 credit.

They tried the same thing on me today. Finally when i did not budge she gave me the SIM at walmart for 10$ . Although she almost said no. That we cant sell SIM you need to activate here itself. So you will have to push hard.

Yesterday I got my sim cards in Mobile shop at Loblaws. They asked if I wanted to activate in their store. I just replied no I will activate at home. No issues with them.

You are right. I got trap by Walmart. I said that I wanted to buy a Sim, then they said I can active at store and also got credit. Now my friend got only 10 dollars credit, and I got only $2 monthly award. So don't listen to the store.

While I was searching for the Mobile Shop in my local mall, I passed a Wow booth which I had never noticed before, and they happen to have PM too, so I had a nice easy transaction there.


Great, I'm happy that you were able to get a few SIM cards without too much hassle.  When people don't know, it's shocking/annoying/frustrating and they end up walking away angry.  Knowing beforehand seems to lessen the frustration and keeps that blood pressure or those eye twitches in check.

"Can I buy a Public Mobile SIM card here?"

"Yes, you can"

"Ok, I'd like to buy one, and take it 'to go'"

"Oh, no, we do things differently here - we activate it for you"

"Ok then, I don't want to buy one"

Thanks for that advice - I don't have access to some of those places, but if WalMart says no to just selling the SIM (it's the closest to my path tonight), I'll just go to a Mobile Shop at a mall that is not far away.

I would recommend you NOT get a sim from Walmart as there's been reports that they won't just sell the sim...they require to activate as well. I'd suggest you look around for a London Drugs,The Mobile Shop, a WOW kiosk or K Mobile.

Yes, just need the phone number of a Public Mobile customer.  Can be anywhere in Canada.  You will get more than 1, but less than 1000 referrals, good luck.

As mentioned it may take up to 72 hrs. Give it a couple days and if it is still not there then come back here, start a new topic and we will help you get it sorted.

If you activated online, and accurately entered their Public Mobile phone number, you'll receive the credit within 72 hours, but usually within a day or two.

To be clear, I did the activation online at home.  This was about 14 hours ago and it still hasn't shown up yet.  I thought it would be instant and automatic.  Please let me know how to get this rectified.  Thank you.

You can wait till 72 hours to see it in your available funds...Smiley Wink

If you activated your sim in a store you are not elligible for it just 10$ for the person referred...the 25$ will be in your available funds in your self serve account if you did your activation online...
