Hey Community,

 

Until November 20th, if you refer a friend to Public Mobile, both you and your friend get a one-time 1GB add-on. Refer up to 5 friends and receive five one-time 1GB add-ons! Your friend can also refer 5 friends on top of their 1GB welcome add-on.

Taking advantage of this promo is easy. Just follow these steps:

 

As a Public Mobile customer you need to:

  1. Be a good pal and refer a friend to Public Mobile.
  2. Tell your friend that they need to successfully activate on a 30 or 90-day plan during the promotional period in order for you and your friend to be eligible for the promotion
  3. Reminder, if you refer a friend you’re also eligible for $1 referral credit off your monthly bill for as long as your friend stays with Public Mobile.

  1. Activate a Public Mobile SIM card at activate.publicmobile.ca
  2. Enter your active Public Mobile phone number on the referral page during the activation process. Be sure they enter your number and not their own.

  • Do these 1GB data Add-Ons expire?

No, the 1GB data Add-Ons do not expire. Any remaining data in your Add-Ons will continue to roll over until used up.

 

  • As a referrer, do I receive one 1GB Data Add-On for every friend?

Yes, you can receive up to five 1GB data Add-Ons for every friend you refer as long as they successfully activate during the promotional period. Please note it may take up to 72 hours before your Add-Ons are  added to your self-serve account. You will receive a text message when your 1GB Add-On is added to your account.

 

  • If I am referred and then I refer a friend or family member am I eligible for both sender and receiver rewards?

Yes, you are. This means that you would receive one 1GB Welcome Data Add-On for being referred, and another 1GB Data Add-On for every friend you refer (up to a max of five 1GB Data Add-ons for five friends referred) who successfully activates during the promotional time period.

 

  • I am a Legacy customer. Am I eligible for these rewards?

Legacy customers are not eligible for the one-time 1GB Add-On offer or loyalty rewards. However, new customers referred by legacy customers are eligible for the one-time 1GB Add-On offer.

  • When does this promotion end?

This promotion will end November 20th, 2017 11:59PM EST.

 

 

Terms and Conditions

If you’re a current customer and refer a friend during the promotion:

  • You must be an active Public Mobile Pick & Pay customer.
  • TELUS team members, contractors, sales representatives acting on TELUS's behalf and associates at retail locations who receive special pricing are excluded from this promotion.
  • You and your referrals have to accept these terms to participate in the program.
  • You can only refer individuals with whom you have a personal or family relationship to ensure compliance with Canada's anti-spam legislation.  You can’t refer yourself or an existing Public Mobile customer.
  • Legacy customers are not eligible for the one time 1GB Add-on offer; however new customers referred by legacy customers are eligible for the one time 1GB Add-on offer.
  • If you refer a friend and they activate during the promotional period, you will receive a one-time 1GB data Add-On up to 72 hours after your referred friend has successfully activated.
  • You receive a one time 1GB Add-on for each friend you refer, up to 5 friends as long as they activate during the promotional period.
  • You will continue to be eligible for the $1/ 30 days referral credit for each month that your referral stays with Public Mobile. All existing Refer-A-Friend rules apply. Check out publicmobile.ca/rewards for more details.

@DmcDohko well normally the person getting referred get literally nothing and the person doing the referring gets $1 for every 30 days the referred person stays an active customer.  What would you like to see the referred person get?  Have you seen other carriers giving away extras to someone being referred?

As many have already stated, this promo might work for a select few but it's still nothing worth getting too excited for...

 

I received the text with the promotion earlier today and was initially drawn in, thinking the 1gb wouldn't just be a one time add on but a permanent extra gb re-occuring every month

 

**(come on PM, having up to 5 extra permanent gbs a month is doable and not that groundbreaking given that in other parts of the world you get many more gb a month for a much inferior cost!!)

 

I'm more than willing to encourage friends and family to join PM as I've been receiving good service with you so far, however there needs to be better incentive, especially for those joining, who I'm pretty sure are at least looking for the 12gb/3month promo again!

We pay $6+ for a coffee ($0.50 cost), $10+ for a hamburger ($1 or less cost)

In Canada everything is regulated and overpriced (and of course overtaxed)

If this really is a one-time bonus, it's not really great incentive to refer anyone.  Not many people I've asked have any interest whatsoever in a one-time bonus. 

 

I'm on the 3 month/4GB plan, and I really don't have enough data, but a one-time boost is just not going to do it.  Had a few people interested, but they won't switch.

I think the answer is quite clear in the "one-time".  You get exactly ONE of these add-ons given to you for every referral, up to 5.  It stays on your account until used up.

Hello friend

It is very easy. Here the steps:

1. Go to Walmart and get the SIM Card

2. get into the web side and check the plan you want for him. I personally used 90 days for some saving.

3. In the SIM Card you have the number, get it ready as well the credit card you will use to pay. (no work well with AMEX..:-( 

4. Start the process online, is very easy. General personal information but save one.

5. At the end you will receive msg the activation is done. Then you just insert the SIM Card in the phone.

6. In daugther case, her iphone just pick all the setup automatically. She got ready to use it and she is happy since she has the 1 GB bonus as well.

I am being using Public Mobile almost a year and I am not regret... I just refered a friend and got my 1GB.. in addition I am very happy with the services and the coverage... no issues. 🙂

 

One thing just as a comment, I went to Walmart with my friend to get the SIM Card. The guy at first told us that all was sold out. We look at him with surprised, then he asked us about the plan we are looking for and offer us others options. We just say we are looking for Public Mobile SIM Card and no interested in others at the moment. When we were leaving he said, that he remember he has some cards. I want to believe that was a guy with a bad memory. At the end my friend got and activated her card and I got all my rewards...!!!!  🙂

These loyalty things are not advertised and for good reason.  They can change it from time to time.  At the moment, you can add another line.
