I am looking to get a iPad that is capable of Cellular so I can use it for Mobile Data.
Would a Public Mobile Plan and SIM Card work for this kind of thing?
I don’t mind if the Calling and Texting isn’t functional as long as I can use the Data.
Which iPads may or may not be compatible?

Thanks in advance.

@Priority wrote:

So here's the thing. Public Mobile doesn't support iPads. However, you CAN start up a new account with the data limit you want. Get it all set up and functioning, then remove the SIM card, place it in the iPad and reboot it. This supposedly works. If you have Public Mobile now with a SIM card, try it out on an iPad. Best way to see if it works. The question you have to ask yourself. Is paying $25 a month or so for just data for an iPad really worth it? Why not just hotspot? I do. Works great!

EDIT: I just realized who it was. LOL. Hey brother. Hope your doing well. Would really like to see you here more often but... I know you're busy with the biz...

second Edit: Koodo is $15 4GB of data with iPad support

https://www.koodomobile.com/en/tablet-rate-plans

You will have to check iPad's IMEI against PM IMEI database. If it shows it is compatible - you are all set to go.

If Not I would not go for it. PM is mobile talk company and data is a 'side business'. So data might work but you might be charged $5 extra for 3G network until it gets shut down...

Cheapest and most reliable data for I pad aside from hot spotting the iPad in my opinion
