You can however try to start a new service with the data amount you want to a phone. Then, once things are up and running, you can download the app on the phone using WiFi. Doing this however will cost you $5 or you can wait 15 days to move it over so it's free. Your iPad must support WiFi + Cellular with an active hardware chip for eSIM support. Double check to make sure. Good luck and enjoy.

EDIT: The question you have to ask yourself is this. Is paying $24 for 5GB or $28 for 10GB or $30 for 35GB of data or $35 for 50GB of data worth it just to use your iPad? Personally, I just hotspot my iPad from my iPhone. Paying twice as much to use an iPad seems expensive. There are other options you may wish to consider.

hi @Buddy7 because of the account login issue, you need to make sure to activate a physical sim or eSIM on a phone first. After it is activated, make sure you login My Account on the browser or PM app and receive a sms text to verify the phone number at least once, better do it 3 times. After this is done, you can then buy a new eSIM for your iPad.

Download the PM app on the iPad, login to the app. (when login, a 2FA text will send to your phone)

After you logged in the app on the iPad, go to Account page and choose Buy sim card and select eSIM.

yes, eSIM on iPad works. Some people subscribe and setup the esim directly on the iPad without trouble. Only problem is they cannot receive 2FA to verify phone number and login My Account/PM app after (because iPad cannot receive sms)

So, a recommended way is to subscribe using your iPhone first. Setup , make sure data and text work and login My Account and receive text to complete the phone number verification process. Then you download PM app on the iPad and login and buy eSIM again for iPad.
