Light Phone III compatible with PM

Simply wanted to drop in here, in case anyone searches about this topic, that the Light Phone III works very well with PM for text and phone. The only thing I have not been able to figure out is to send and receive photos and pictures via text messages, but I do not care much for that feature in general.

The APN settings needed to be added or edited manually on the Light Phone III (under Settings > Account & Info > Device Info > SIMs > Public Mobile > Access Point Names), using the information here: https://apn.how/ca/public-mobile

You sure voice calls work?

Can you run the IMEI test and post is the result?

It is Irrelevant if your phone works NOW with PM.

Check if your IMEI is compatible with PM network or would you need a new phone soon...

Yes, it has been working since I made the switch in late March. Light Phone was saying they were finalizing their agreement with Telus in Canada by end of March 2026.

The IMEI checker returned a negative.

Light Phone III is showing not compatible on Telus as well

If you are using it now and voice is working, there is a slight chance that it will keep working after March 2027. But thing could change if it is not even officially supported by Telus

@Aoife but you can make voice calls now? We know Light Phone 3 has no 3G band and Voice calls never work

@slusagm Totally can, I put in the SIM card and it worked immediately. I can call, talk over the phone, receive calls, no issues, no low signal or calls that hang up for no reason.

Oh, what is changing in March 2027? The officially unrecognized IMEI will become an issue for LTE (is this why people tell me to go test it)? I don't use phone data at all except when the Light OS needs an update. I've attached my email communication from January about this.

that was an email from LightPhone, that said clearly: "We expect", that means not guarantee

I think you should take a screenshot from PM's IMEI checker showing it is not compatible, email Light Phone and ask them what is happening
