Esim Private vs Travel

I have a new phone with a new number that I chose when purchasing esim. Should that number be listed as my “Primary” number in Settings/Cellular? Right now my number is listed as “Travel-Public Mobile” and a weird number is listed as “Primary”.

If my number should be “Primary” how do I switch it out of “Travel”?

Thanks for any help…I am a beginner.

@Kells33 Yes set the public mobile eSIM to primary and just try rebooting the device and reseat network settings see if this helps might need reset network settings couple time ms even . If still no luck you can ask support to help

Public mobile prefers

you use the orange chat bubble bottom right of screen . If that dosent work you can instead send a private message To CS_Agent

Yes, change the sim to Primary

Remember to remove old sim old esim. Only enable PM sim. Reboot phone and Reset Network Settings. Go back and it should be Primary or at least you can change to it

@Kells33 We don’t know if you have iPhone or android . But the option should be right before or same soot as you see “travel -public mobile “ and the weird number listed as primary

To set a SIM as Primary on an iPhone (iOS 13+), go to Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Data) > Default Voice Line and select your preferred SIM. For data, select Cellular Data and choose the desired line.

To change a SIM to primary on a Pixel, open Settings > Network & internet > SIMs, tap the desired SIM, and set defaults for Calls, SMS, or Data.

Got it, thanks a lot! My number is now switched to Primary and weird number I switched to Travel. I take it having a weird number for travel is a normal thing?

the travel is when you have another sim, maybe a travel esim, people would then use a second label. But for most who has just one line, use Primary is the best choice

@Kells33 not normal from what I can tell unless you had some sorta travel esim in the phone at one point . But either way if you have public mobile sim set as primary and phone is working calling texting and data using the correct number your good to go
