@East7 You can if you are on a Can-US-Mex plan. If not on a plan that includes USA you can buy an add on. In either case make sure that you have roaming turned on in your phone (there is no reason NOT to leave roaming on, you can't/won't be charged for something after the fact like on a post paid plan).

Further to what the other member explained —- Be aware that leaving roaming turned on will eat battery life.

@Anerkons Though it may affect battery life, my S25 lasts 2 days on a single charge with roaming turned on. I wouldn't call that eating my battery life. It is more apt to affect it when you are away from your home area as it searches for networks. Having said that, I have travelled Mexico and USA and haven't noticed an appreciable difference in battery life.

Yes if you have roaming on and don’t use your phone for much of other things a good battery should last for a couple of days. However roaming left on according to Bell, t-mobile and others, does significantly use battery life. Do a google search to confirm. In my case I only toggle roaming on when in poor reception areas in the hope to get better reception. I do this to conserve battery because I only have an iPhone 12 with only 82% battery health.
Update—> I just checked my battery health and it’s down to a disappointing 75%.
