i'm thinking of getting the nokia 2780 but i want to make sure public mobile is compatible with it first. i saw some people say yes but these replies were a bit dated and i don't want to end up with a phone i can't use. anyone knows? thanks!

@ka03 you need to download the public mobile app inorder to purchase a plan. Can this phone download apps?

Should be OK. Public mobile is using telus network, which is compatible with nokia 2780 based on following websites.

You can have a family or friend download the PM app to activate the SIM.

Once your SIM is activated, you can manage your account online then delete the app from your family/friend’s phone.

This Nokia phone model isn't running either Android or iOS. There's no Public Mobile app available for it.

Did you end up purchasing a Nokia 2780 and does it work with Public Mobile?.. I too am interested in doing this.

I got a 2780 and it works for calls and sms, but not mms. So, sending/receiving things like pictures or being in group chats isn't possible
