      <title>Disappointing 5G performance on iPhone 17 Pro Max in Pointe-aux-Trembles (Low upload &amp; Noise)</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi everyone,&lt;BR /&gt;I recently switched to Public Mobile's 5G service with my iPhone 17 Pro Max, and I wanted to share my findings regarding poor signal quality in the Pointe-aux-Trembles / Repentigny area. Despite being less than 1km away from a Telus tower, my experience has been subpar compared to my previous provider (Rogers).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;The Issue:&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;UL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Download:&lt;/STRONG&gt; Decent (varies between 70 Mbps and 130 Mbps).&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Upload:&lt;/STRONG&gt; Extremely low (between 2 Mbps and 5 Mbps).&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Signal Strength:&lt;/STRONG&gt; Very weak (-106 dBm to -117 dBm) even when standing outside.&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/UL&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Steps I’ve taken to troubleshoot:&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;OL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Forced 5G On:&lt;/STRONG&gt; Switched from "5G Auto" to "5G On" in Cellular settings.&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Force LTE:&lt;/STRONG&gt;&amp;nbsp;Switched to "LTE" in Cellular settings.&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Reboot:&lt;/STRONG&gt; Reboot my phone multiple times&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Network Reset:&lt;/STRONG&gt; Performed a full Network Settings Reset on my iPhone.&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;APN Check:&lt;/STRONG&gt; Confirmed APN settings are correct (isp.mb.com).&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Outdoor Testing:&lt;/STRONG&gt; Tested the signal outside to rule out building interference.&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Field Test Mode:&lt;/STRONG&gt; Checked the technical data via *3001#12345#*.&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/OL&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Technical Observations:&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;My phone consistently stays on Band 71 (600 MHz) with a very narrow bandwidth (15 MHz). More importantly, my SINR (Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio) is heavily negative (around -29 dB), indicating massive interference or a very "noisy" signal in this sector.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It seems like the Telus/Public Mobile infrastructure in this specific area is either congested or poorly optimized for 5G, especially for the upload link.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Has anyone else in the East End or Repentigny noticed this "false" 5G coverage where the icon is there, but the performance isn't?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

You might think 4G not the greatest, but with a 5G plan you have , you will get the same download speed using 4G&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;and if you want to report your issue, you have to have open a proper ticket with PM&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Simply&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;open ticket with PM using the Orange Chatbot icon on the lower right.       <description>&lt;P&gt;A few things you can do:&lt;BR /&gt;- go to telus tower in your place or different locations where telus tower exists (there is a map for you to check) and test it out your theory of noise signal&lt;BR /&gt;- set your phone to 4G LTE can help&lt;/P&gt;</description>
