However, it is not a reliable source and should not be relied upon to confirm network outages.

First, the site is not an official source, and the numbers displayed are based on issues voluntarily reported by users.

In addition, the reported numbers for each carrier represent the total number of reported issues across multiple services, including Wi-Fi, TV, total blackout, email, phone (which may refer to either mobile or home phone), and internet (which could include both home internet and mobile data). This can be misleading for members here who are only concerned about mobile service issues.

For example, the Vancouver section on the site shows 124 reports in the past 15 days, and the six most recent reports in the Vancouver area are:

TV - 17 hours ago

Internet - 2 days ago

Internet - 2 days ago

Internet - 2 days ago

Internet - 2 days ago

Wifi - 2 days ago

As mentioned, those internet issues are unclear as to whether they are related to home internet or mobile services. The numbers shown are therefore not a reflection of any current issue. At most, they could only serve as a very rough reference to overall service reliability over a 15-day period.

The Vancouver example I brought up is not a one-off. In fact, all areas show a similar pattern, where different types of issues are combined into a single number for each carrier, based on small, voluntary samples collected over multiple days. Because of this, I do not believe this site is suitable to recommend as a source for checking outages.

@slusagm wrote:

https://www.telus.com/en/bc/outages

@slusagm

the site is more reliable as it is an official Telus outage site.

However, do keep in mind that the site tends to focus on network issues in BC and AB as that is Telus "home base". The site is not very reliable when it comes to issues in other provinces where Telus relies on Bell network. Also, usually it will only report major outage and miss out on small local network issues

i checked Telus Outage map but there is any issue now
https://www.telus.com/en/bc/outages

were you using Automatic network mode? Princeton, BC should have full 5G and 4G network. So, maybe you can try to switch between

Also, you sure not a problem with VPN? Which VPN provider you are using? Some suggest you need to change the VPN Protocol to get it connected. Lately, there are some VPN issue with some provider, some need to change to WireGuard or OpenVPN-TCP to get it working
